Hitchin, Here I Come! (Post #8974)
Hello darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and oh, my gosh, you're not going to believe what happened this week! 💖
Firstly, let's talk about Hitchin! Now, I've been travelling a lot lately, galavanting about the country in my most fabulous pink tutu, spreading the joy and glitter of Pink Tutu Sparkles wherever I go. And I've got to say, Hitchin has truly captured my heart! It's just so quaint and charming, a real little slice of England, with its cobbled streets and gorgeous historic buildings.
But this week wasn't just about admiring the scenery, darling, because this week, Hitchin played host to the biggest and most fabulous event you could possibly imagine: a giant teddy bear's picnic in the park! Yup, you heard right. It was everything and I was the guest of honour, arriving in style by carriage pulled by a rather majestic, if slightly bewildered, pair of shire horses.
I have to admit, even for a seasoned performer like myself, the sheer joy and innocence of seeing all those teddy bears, some dressed in the cutest little outfits, was just overwhelming! I was just giddy with excitement, giggling as much as the kids did. And that, darling, is what I love about this whole Pink Tutu thing. It’s about finding that sparkle and joy, whether it's a child’s laughter or an elderly gentleman dancing along to your tunes - it’s infectious!
But, before we get to the big picnic extravaganza, let's rewind a little shall we?
My Hitchin Adventure:First stop - Hitchin Train Station. And darling, you won't believe this - the train I arrived on was a vintage steam train! Just like in the movies! I felt like I was starring in my own Pink Tutu Express film! Imagine, darling, me in my signature bright pink tutu, riding alongside a steam engine puffing away in the summer sunshine. A dream come true, absolutely pure magic!
You see, when it comes to travelling, I do it in style, my darling! I've learned the most fabulous way to see this country is to journey by train or, if the mood takes me, horseback! You know me, I'm not afraid to step out of the box, darling. A horse drawn carriage, now there's a statement! It adds that extra touch of ooh-la-la to my travel schedule. It just screams Pink Tutu Sparkles! I can't imagine travelling any other way, unless it’s on a magic carpet, of course! (One day, one day…)
I actually found a charming little carriage house right in Hitchin itself. It’s a family run business, and the family were absolutely delighted when I booked them to pull my stage setup for the teddy bear picnic. I thought they'd need more convincing to let their prize shires tow a glitter-bomb of a stage, but they were all "Sure, lovely, let's get you set up" and even offered me a pot of tea in their garden. Absolutely lovely.
Anyway, back to Hitchin! I checked into a gorgeous hotel in the heart of town. Oh my, they really looked after me - my room was just divine. I felt like I was in a Princess Diaries movie with the most fabulous pink canopy bed! The fluffy pillows! I truly felt like royalty. I might have spent the first half-hour living in that canopy bed, but don't tell anyone!
You see, after a long week of shows in various pubs and theatres across Derbyshire, a little bit of luxury is what I crave. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself, and that means a luxurious pink and glitter filled bubble bath, darling! I popped into one of Hitchin's lovely antique shops (so many gems!) and I found the most incredible bath toys - a swan shaped rubber duck, an entire little plastic palace, and oh my goodness, a shimmering pink mermaid, she was divine. I must have played for ages in that bubble bath. It was pure bliss!
Hitchin Picnic ParadiseThen came the grand event of the weekend: the Picnic in the Park with Pink Tutu Sparkles! Oh, I have to tell you all about this, because it was just *the best.
First, I want to give a massive shout-out to all my darling friends, family and fans who helped get my stage setup going, especially darling Billy, he’s quite the handyman! Billy, darling, I couldn't have done it without you, you’re an absolute life saver. I have a lot of faith in my friends and family - they always step up when I need them! The set took up an impressive part of the park. Lots of glittery streamers, neon pink signs and balloons, you can never have too much pink, darling. We even made a massive pink tutu made of real tulle! The centrepiece for my performance was a gigantic pink teacup that glowed under UV lights - sparkling bright against the twilight sky! Talk about magical!
The little ones arrived, all decked out in their cutest teddy bear costumes. Oh my goodness, you wouldn’t believe some of the outfits, from cuddly bears to glamorous stuffed animals! And the smiles on their faces... pure joy. I knew I had to capture this magical moment, so I brought along my brand new pink and sparkly camera for those amazing memories. I can’t wait to show you all those amazing pictures!
And darling, we danced. Oh, the children just danced with me with such passion and excitement, their little voices and the happy squeals echoing throughout the park. It was truly heart-warming, I was absolutely glowing with love for everyone, even though, let's face it, the outfit was a little warm. Even me, a professional in a well-ventilated, custom designed tutu was struggling, it was just that sort of glorious day. There was such innocence in their eyes, such genuine joy. It was a moment that stayed with me long after the last notes faded away.
But there was also something special for the parents and the grownups, darling! I mean, we had to include a tea party with deliciously pink themed cake, cupcakes and cupcakes with fluffy icing. (You can never have enough pink and sparkly, my darling). It was just an all-around, delightful afternoon, a moment where adults were able to put aside the everyday stresses and join their children in an unforgettable experience. And everyone, yes, even the big strong dads, wore tutus for the big photo at the end! I’ve got to share this amazing moment with you all, so you’ll just have to check my Instagram feed soon for those snaps. Oh darling, there’s so much fabulousness to be shared!
As the day drew to a close, I felt truly happy and fulfilled. My job, darling, isn't just about the makeup, the costume, or even the dance moves. It's about touching lives, making people smile and, above all, spreading that feeling of sparkle and joy. And you know, it really did feel like a royal occasion in a most unexpected place, with every pink-clad person around me. That is my aim, darling: to convince everyone that we should wear pink tutus and dance, because, well, why not?
It was a brilliant day, my darling. Just perfect. I can’t thank everyone enough who joined me at the teddy bear’s picnic! You really are the best and the love in that park just shone out like the biggest, brightest, sparkliest pink tutu, I know.
The Pink Tutu WayAs you can see, darling, my journey is filled with fabulousness and surprises, a bit of adventure with the sparkle of joy sprinkled over it! The real secret? It’s about stepping outside the box and believing that everything is possible. It’s about chasing dreams and spreading happiness, darling, one sparkly tutu at a time! I'm proof, darling, you can make a living and travel the world with the perfect tutu and the will to spread a little pink glitter wherever you go. And, my darling, that’s what makes this life the most magical adventure ever!
