Darwen Daze! ? ?

Hey Darlings! It's your TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you from sunny (well, it was sunny for a while!) Darwen! ☀️ This was blog post number 8987, and you know what? Every single one of them brings me a little bit closer to my ultimate goal: to make pink tutus the new uniform of the world! ?✨

Right, enough of the big dreams for a minute – let's talk about this week's adventures. So, I got the train to Darwen, and let me tell you, it was a journey of pure enchantment! I was seated opposite a delightful family, and let's just say that pink was a VERY popular theme in their luggage. (You just can't fight destiny, darlings!) They were off on a day trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and were dressed in all shades of the colour I love most, right down to matching pink picnic blankets! ?

When we got to Darwen station, there she was! A magnificent, dappled grey horse all saddled up, waiting to take me to the town centre. (No, honestly, I didn't make that up! Darwen's a proper quirky place, and this gorgeous steed was the perfect chariot for a TutuQueen!) We rode past charming cottages and shops filled with brightly-coloured trinkets, stopping off at a fab cafe called The Pink Flamingo. I swear, darlings, the owner was like a doppelgänger for my mother, and they both absolutely LOVED my tutu. "It brings joy to everyone, just like you," they said, and my heart simply swelled with pride. ? ?

Darwen, for all its cute shops, was also hosting a huge fair, complete with games, rides, and some seriously scrumptious-looking food stalls. Oh, and did I mention that the entire place was decorated with, yes you guessed it, PINK? Balloons, streamers, you name it. I seriously think it might have been my happiest place ever. ?

Of course, it wouldn't be a trip without a little bit of TutuQueen flair, now would it? That evening, I hit the stage in the town hall with a fantastic setlist featuring my usual mix of classic pop tunes, cheesy disco hits, and, naturally, a little bit of opera to round it all off! (Nothing beats belting out "Nessun Dorma" in a full pink tutu to a room of enthusiastic fans!) I even threw in some "Let It Go" because hey, we were all in need of a little magic after such a fab day, don't you think? ?✨

Speaking of magic, the next day I stumbled upon a charming little ballet studio tucked away in a quiet corner of town. I couldn't resist going in for a look, and boy was I surprised! The instructor, a bubbly redhead called Gemma, told me all about their new class: Tutu Ballet! (No joke!) I was SO in my element, teaching these adorable little dancers how to twirl, pirouette, and, most importantly, embrace their inner pink. Honestly, darling, I think I might have almost started crying from the cuteness overload! ? ?

But as lovely as Darwen was, it was time for me to say goodbye, and even the horse looked a little sad to see me leave! But hey, with my blog post finished and a whole pile of inspiring memories, my heart is full and I’m ready to plan my next adventure.

Until next time, stay sparkly,

Pink Tutu Sparkles x

P.S. I can’t forget to mention that the real star of the show this week wasn’t me, but a little pink poodle puppy named “Princess Fluffy”! Yes, the most precious little thing with a tiny pink tutu of its own, even smaller than mine! She definitely inspired me to continue spreading the pink love, and I think we all agreed: “It’s time for a fluffy pink tutu revolution!” ??

P.P.S If you are actually interested in taking a ride on a horse to visit Darwen, check out the Darwen and Blackburn Horse Drawn Carriage Services on Facebook. They're a real treat and definitely worth the visit, whether or not you’re wearing pink. ?
