Prestwich - A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage - Post 8988

Hello my gorgeous glitterati!

It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your fabulous fuchsia-loving friend, back from another whirlwind of a trip! Today's adventure took me all the way to Prestwich, a charming little town nestled in Greater Manchester. And, of course, I made sure to bring a suitcase brimming with enough pink to turn the whole place pink, and, as always, my favourite pink tulle.

Prestwich welcomed me with open arms (and open doors) – which meant there were loads of shops for me to have a rummage in! I'm talking gorgeous vintage boutiques bursting with colour, shops showcasing independent designers, and even a few high-street stores I just had to pop into (because let's face it, a pink tutu queen has to have some designer flair!). The shopping bags were piled high in no time!

Speaking of flair, did you know the ballet is flourishing in Prestwich? The Prestwich Arts Festival showcased the amazing work of a local ballet school and it left me yearning to twirl!

A Royal Touch of Elegance

Of course, my mission wouldn't be complete without a bit of pink-tutu magic. So, naturally, I turned my Prestwich stroll into a "Pink Tutu Promenade"! And you know what? The locals absolutely adored it! From families walking in the park to couples enjoying a coffee date, everyone couldn't help but smile and give a "That's fabulous" or a "You're absolutely gorgeous!" It felt like I was living in a real-life fairytale.

One of the highlights of the trip had to be visiting a truly royal shop - "The Little Horse & Carriage". I’m not talking about the kind of horses that you might find pulling a carriage. No, these are real-life majestic horses! They have a shop selling a wide selection of riding gear and even the friendliest pony you could meet, “Daisy”. And I've gotta say, it's a little-known fact that I have a soft spot for horses! I even used to compete in show jumping for the Derbyshire Pony Club.

You see, this whole pink-tutu business didn’t start with a bang - it started with a slow, gentle trot. Like the gentle clip-clop of hooves on cobblestones. Back when I was studying for my science degree at University of Derby, I was a part of the uni's ballet club. And let's be honest, what's a ballet club without at least one fabulous pink tutu? Well, during our charity fundraiser, I ended up trying on one of the club's pink tutus - and the rest is, as they say, history.

It All Started With a Sparkles...

Now, if you ask me, life just looks brighter in pink! From my daily commute into the lab, where I spend my day testing fabric for their resilience and tear-resistance to strutting my stuff in front of cheering audiences, I am always on the lookout for something sparkly. But my days in the lab testing fabric aren’t all doom and gloom - in fact, I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by colleagues who love my drag persona! It actually helped inspire one of my new science projects… can't say more on that though, it's classified!

For now, though, let's stick with fashion! I must say, my wardrobe has never looked more dazzling! This past week has been jam-packed with fabulous fashion finds and even a little bit of vintage treasure-hunting. I can't wait to show you all the incredible looks I picked up on my latest adventures in Prestwich. Stay tuned for a fashion blog post next week - It's going to be totally Pinkalicious!

Until then, keep on spreading those sparkly pink vibes!

P.S. Remember, you don't need to be a drag queen to wear a pink tutu! Even a small touch of pink can turn any ordinary outfit into an extraordinary one!
