Bilston Bound: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Black Country!

Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again with another adventure from your favourite tutu-loving, pink-obsessed drag queen! Today, I'm sharing post number 9020, straight from my sparkly pink diary (yes, it's real!), and this time I'm taking you with me to Bilston, right in the heart of the Black Country!

The journey itself was an absolute delight. It's always such a treat for me to catch the train; I get to people-watch, dream up my next stage outfits, and enjoy the view. My lovely pink suitcase, which I nicknamed 'Fluffy,' was packed with the essentials: a sequined pink top, a couple of different pink tutus (you can never have too many, lovelies!), and a glittery pink boa, just because! And let's not forget the fluffy pink makeup bag – I mean, it just makes sense, right?

Reaching Bilston station felt like entering another world, with its bustling markets and historic buildings. I mean, I couldn’t resist taking a couple of selfies in front of the beautiful old railway station clock tower, you know me – always gotta document the moment!

The local town was buzzing, and I was surprised by how welcoming everyone was. I couldn’t help but stop and chat with the kind folks in the shops, and everyone loved my sparkly pink ensemble! There’s something about a pink tutu that instantly makes people smile, right? And honestly, my aim in life is to get everyone to experience that joyful pink-tutu feeling!

The performance itself was at the charming Bilston Town Hall – imagine, a majestic Victorian building adorned with glittering chandeliers! They were hosting a “Black Country Belles” fair, and I was headlining a night dedicated to “Local Queens,” showcasing the incredible talent in this region. It's so lovely to be part of the local community! I got to chat with the organisers, the local news crew even had a quick chat with me about my passion for pink tutus, and a little kid who was totally dressed like a mini-me Pink Tutu Sparkles! Honestly, meeting that little girl almost brought a tear to my eye, she was adorable!

And the show? It was electric! The crowd absolutely loved my routine, especially my choreographed ballet sequence! That was my secret weapon - you see, my real name is Alex, and I've been dancing since I was a little sprout. In fact, that's how I fell in love with pink tutus! When I was in university studying science – yes, I actually have a degree in textile chemistry! My day job is a fabric testing specialist - but by night I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles – it’s all part of the fun of it all, you know. I was a ballet dancer at university, and for a charity event I tried on a pink tutu for the first time, and... boom! It changed everything!

From that day onwards, I started to wear pink tutus everywhere, it felt so powerful. The confidence it gave me, the way it made me stand out! It just felt like my second skin, like a tutu was made just for me, right? So when I started drag, there was never any doubt - it was pink tutus all the way!

The show wrapped up with the whole audience clapping along to my "Pink Tutu Boogie" song. You see, I also write my own songs, and "Pink Tutu Boogie" is a celebration of pink tutus, fun and fabulousness! Everyone got involved – even the stage crew joined in!

It felt like we were all part of something special. That's the thing I love about being Pink Tutu Sparkles. It's about bringing people together through colour, joy, and, yes, a lot of pink tutu magic.

As I left Bilston Town Hall, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with the feeling of love and acceptance that radiated from the town. It was as though everyone I met was happy to have me join their community, to celebrate the beauty of diversity, and to enjoy a good laugh together.

That, to me, is the real magic of being a drag queen – not just performing on stage but connecting with people, making them feel happy and bringing a bit of pink-tutu glitter into their lives.

If you're reading this, dear reader, I invite you to embrace your own inner spark of creativity! Put on a tutu (any colour, lovelies!), embrace your passions, and spread some sparkly joy to those around you. After all, the world is a brighter place when everyone feels empowered and fabulous.

And speaking of sparkle, you've heard it here first! I'm off to the Black Country again – this time I'm going to be headlining at a "Wolverhampton Does Dance" event! It's a show full of ballet dancers, musical theatre, and a few Pink Tutu surprises - think giant glitter cannons and pink-tutu-themed dance moves. I can’t wait!

Keep up to date on all of my travels and shenanigans by following me on social media. I'm on all the platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, you name it! And don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com, because there's more fabulous content waiting there, just for you.

Until next time, lovelies, stay sparkly, stay colourful, and never forget the magic of pink tutus!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
