Hiya darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from another whirlwind trip! This time, I ventured up north, all the way to Hindley, a town brimming with character and a touch of vintage charm. I can't resist a good old fashioned train journey, the gentle sway, the view out the window, it all adds to the theatrical air of arriving in a new town with a Pink Tutu in tow!
Let me tell you, Hindley had a magical energy about it. Just the kind of place you can imagine a ballet story unfolding! You know, like Cinderella going to the ball, but with a modern twist and a lot of pink, of course. The cobbled streets were just asking for a tap dancing number, and I, being the ultimate drama queen, obliged! (A bit of a solo performance under a street lamp - it’s a little known fact, but I have some mean footwork when I’m feeling the vibe.)
It was all inspired by the magnificent Ballet Hindley, you see. An absolute treasure trove of talented dancers who create truly mesmerising productions. They're based in the gorgeous Hindley Arts Centre, and I just had to soak it all up! You could feel the passion in every rehearsal and the elegance in every twirl! I've got to admit, it was all a bit too much for a tutu-clad, dancing diva, so I burst into tears... happy tears of course! (No need to worry about mascara smudging - my face glitter always holds strong!).
I can't help but be influenced by all these gorgeous dancers, I tell you! My moves get all dainty and refined! It's truly inspiring, and honestly, sometimes I find myself pirouetting around the lab, where I spend my days. Let's just say the lab technicians get a bit of a surprise every now and then! (Although, one guy did suggest we do a double act - imagine! Pink Tutu Sparkles AND Lab Coat Lumi!). But back to Hindley, it truly felt like a hidden gem! There are so many little independent shops crammed full of vintage treasures just waiting to be discovered! I must confess, my little purse took a little hit (all those fabulous feather boas I couldn’t resist!), but honestly, I could have spent hours browsing, a girly shopping spree in a little town – heaven!
Speaking of heaven, you know how much I love food and a good chat? Well, Hindley didn’t disappoint. There are so many quirky little cafés with the most delectable cakes, you wouldn’t believe it! Imagine a huge slice of strawberry sponge, piled high with pink frosting, a dash of sparkling sugar, and of course, a pink cupcake on top for good measure – this is just a taste of the treats you’ll find. The coffee, however, wasn’t pink. I found myself a pink-tastic blend by a local coffee shop that was divine, though! It’s called “Tutu Dream,” and my goodness, it’s like liquid sunshine!
Naturally, I didn't forget about spreading the Tutu Love! I mean, it’s my mission in life! While I was walking around town, I started seeing glimpses of pink, more and more people were wearing the most magnificent shades of pink – I even saw a girl sporting a pastel pink tutu under a denim jacket, fabulous! Then there was the gentleman rocking a baby pink sweater – he was a total gentleman! You could practically see the glitter emanating from him, and we both struck a pose together for a fab picture!
You see, everyone’s got their own pink, it's all about expressing yourself and letting your personality shine through. A bit like a flamboyant Pink Tutu Sparkles in a quiet little town like Hindley, you see? And the people there? Just the nicest, warmest bunch! They were thrilled to meet Pink Tutu Sparkles, a drag queen in the heart of their town. They treated me like family! That’s what makes my little pink-filled heart burst with happiness!
As for the future, I can already imagine more exciting pink adventures, more travel, and of course, spreading the pink-tutu love wherever I go!
