Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes To Luton: Tutu Queen's Post Number 9050!

Oh, darlings! Get ready to shimmy and sparkle, because Pink Tutu Sparkles is bringing the fabulous to Luton! This week I've packed my glitziest pink tutu, a whole wardrobe of shimmering dresses and enough glitter to make the Eiffel Tower blush, and set off on my latest adventure. And oh, what an adventure it has been!

Now, I'll confess, this is not my usual style of travel. My usual means of transportation are a comfy, cosy train ride (first class, obviously!), or a galloping horse (a rather spectacular way to make an entrance, I must say). But sometimes, a girl's gotta embrace the unexpected. Luton, I'm coming for you!

As soon as the train pulled into the station, I was absolutely beaming. Luton has this fantastic little vintage market that I just had to visit, and boy, oh boy, did it deliver! So many colourful stalls with treasures galore. I found this most divine silk scarf with the most perfect shade of pink – perfect for a new, head-turning tutu embellishment, don’t you think?

Speaking of tutus, I know what you’re thinking. Luton… Maybe not the first place that comes to mind for a ballet aficionado like me, but this trip was all about broadening my horizons and finding that spark of inspiration everywhere I go!

My first stop was the Luton Hoo Hotel, which had these lovely gardens. I know you're thinking "gardens," "sparkles," and "tutus" - but trust me, darling! The sun was shining, birds were singing, and the lush green grass just screamed "perfect tutu photo-op" to me.

That evening, I strutted my stuff at a local cabaret club. You know how much I love performing, and let me tell you, these Luton audiences are WILD! They loved every single pink sequin on my dress. It's the most brilliant thing about doing drag - connecting with audiences, bringing some sparkle and joy to their evening.

Now, I know some of you are probably wondering what on earth made a girl like me (yes, I am a girl, darling) pick Luton. The truth is, this whole "Pink Tutu Sparkles" thing was born from a totally random incident. Remember when I was in uni, that little scientist with a passion for all things science and even more passion for ballet? I mean, we all have those dreams, don't we, darlings? Well, for my university ballet club fundraiser, I thought it would be funny to put on a tutu. The rest, as they say, is history! That was the day the "Tutu Queen" was born. And that's where I found myself here, on my way to perform at the Luton Festival, in a dazzling hot pink tutu that I had carefully designed. The theme? “Rainbow Rhapsody.” What’s a “Tutu Queen” to do?

After my successful performance, I was totally thrilled! People came up to me asking about my work as a scientist, my fashion choices, and what it was like to be a travelling, sparkly drag queen. And guess what? I inspired a few of them to think about trying on a tutu for the first time. Now that's what I call making the world a little more fabulous, one tutu at a time!

But that's not all. While I was in Luton, I even made a detour to the famous hat shop! It was heaven for a girl with a love for everything dramatic, flamboyant, and extravagant. They even had a pink velvet fedora that I simply had to try on. Talk about making an entrance! Let's just say the Luton town centre wasn't ready for a pink fedora and tutu combination!

As I sat down in my hotel room and wrapped up the last of my "Pink Tutu" treats - it's all about those delicate, pink macarons, darlings! - I couldn't help but feel happy. Luton might not be your typical pink tutu-wearing destination, but for me, it was a chance to bring my love for the fabulous and inspire a few along the way. You see, darling, I believe we can all find our own magic in the most unexpected of places. That's why I always say, let your colours shine, and don't be afraid to try on a pink tutu. It's not just an outfit, it's a mindset! It's a reminder to embrace the sparkle within and spread it with the world.

Well, darlings, that’s all from Pink Tutu Sparkles. You know what they say: Tutu-tally Fabulous!

Until next time!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex, back in my science lab testing fabrics)
