The weather is a bit gloomy in good old Derbyshire, but that’s okay! Nothing a fabulous pink tutu and some upbeat tunes can't fix. I’m embracing the drizzly day with the biggest pinkest smile I can muster. 💖 Why? Because my trusty steed, the Midland Mainline, is whisking me away to Kettering for an exciting night of performance!
Speaking of my journeys, have I told you about my love for train travel lately? I find something absolutely magical about speeding across the countryside. You’re cocooned in your little carriage, the world whizzing past the window, and all you need to worry about is how many snacks you can squeeze into your tote bag (it’s always a tough one!) 🧁
Kettering holds a special place in my heart – well, actually, my tutu’s heart! 😉 - because it was where I first experienced the pure magic of a ballet performance. I was just a little girl, wearing a bright pink satin tutu and bouncing with excitement, mesmerized by the delicate grace of the dancers on stage. Ever since, the lure of the dance floor, the whisper of tulle and the enchantment of a perfectly executed pirouette has been with me, pulling me back into the enchanting world of ballet.
But hey, let’s not forget my mission, my goal, my reason for being: PINK TUTUS FOR EVERYONE! 💪 My mission, darlings, is a grand one - to convince every single soul on this earth to embrace the power of the pink tutu! 💖 It's more than just a piece of fabric; it’s a symbol of joy, creativity, and above all, the freedom to express yourself in the most dazzling way imaginable! Think of it as a pink cloud of happiness, wrapped around your body, ready to take on the world with a sparkly smile! ✨
Of course, my daily life isn't all about dancing in tutus, although I certainly wish it was! You see, when I’m not in drag, I’m Alex, a humble (but incredibly fashionable!) scientist who spends his days in a lab, testing the strength and texture of fabrics. But my scientific side has its perks! After all, what's more scientifically exciting than analyzing the perfectly twirling layers of a perfectly constructed tutu? 😉 My work also means I can experiment with all kinds of textures, materials and colours – an inspiration when it comes to creating new tutu designs! There’s nothing I love more than seeing a fantastic tutu emerge from my sewing machine. And oh, do I love the way it moves on the stage.
My heart is truly split between two worlds. The scientific, logical world of my day job, and the creative, fantastical world of Pink Tutu Sparkles, the Drag Queen Extraordinaire. But you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. These worlds are my reality, they define who I am, and both are fueled by the passion I have for everything pink and fabulous! And it’s that passion that brought me to Kettering today! This vibrant little town is home to a lovely local arts centre and this is where I’m set to make a spectacular performance. I'm talking tutus, feathers, and enough sequins to blind a disco ball! 🪩 The stage is waiting for me, the audience is ready, and I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, am ready to show Kettering a bit of my pink-tastic sparkle!
Speaking of glitter, don’t you just love that satisfying feeling of all those tiny, glittery sparkles showering your hair, your face, your tutu? 😜 It’s truly magical, the magic that I try to spread every time I take to the stage. Tonight, my tutu and I will be gracing the Kettering arts center stage. I plan to leave the audience enchanted, maybe even a little bit more daring! Dare to be different. Dare to wear a pink tutu. You might just be surprised at what magic unfolds!
As I gaze out of the window of this whizzing train, I'm excited for the adventures that await me.
