Today I'm whisking you all off on a sparkly adventure to the picturesque county of Somerset. The train journey was an absolute delight! I opted for first class, of course. You see, darling, a queen travels in style! Plus, there's no shortage of space to spread out my fabulous tulle and keep the fabulous, flowy fabric from getting all crinkled!
I have to tell you, Somerset is an absolute dream! Rolling green hills, charming little towns and villages - perfect for my latest mission to convince everyone in the country that a pink tutu is a must-have accessory! ?
This trip is particularly exciting because it marks a rare opportunity to combine my love for the stage with a good old-fashioned village fair. Tonight, I'm gracing Yeovil with my dazzling presence at the Yeovil Summer Fair. ??
Yeovil has this truly special charm, you see? It’s the type of place where you can easily wander the streets and find yourself caught in a beautiful moment – perhaps it’s listening to street musicians, marveling at a breathtaking display of flowers, or enjoying a delicious homemade pastry at a quaint tea room. There's an authenticity about it that I find utterly charming!
Speaking of authentic charm, can we talk about this gorgeous, custom-made pink tutu I've been sporting today? ? My seamstress truly outdid herself. This magnificent creation is so impossibly fluffy, it just bounces with each and every one of my steps, much to the delight of all the passer-bys! I may be a little obsessed with tutus, but darling, they’re just so much fun! I remember my very first time wearing one - during a university fundraising event for charity! I never looked back! ?
Of course, before heading off to the Yeovil Summer Fair, I simply had to make time for some quintessential Somerset activities. First on the list - a proper afternoon tea! ? A perfectly delicate selection of finger sandwiches, scrumptious scones with lashings of clotted cream and homemade jam, all served with a teapot overflowing with fragrant Earl Grey! Who wouldn't love that?!
Then, naturally, it was time to embrace the countryside. Now, this little queen doesn't exactly ride, but darling, have you ever seen a horse-drawn carriage? So wonderfully charming! A gentle ride through the picturesque landscape, complete with breathtaking scenery and fresh country air! Pure bliss! I must admit, I'm starting to think that maybe this trip to Somerset might just be a bit of a "get me out of my flat in Derbyshire" kind of holiday! ?
The Yeovil Summer Fair itself is like stepping straight into a whimsical scene. ? Everywhere you look there are stalls laden with delectable treats, homemade crafts, local produce, and even a vintage clothing stand! You’ve probably guessed it – I found some fantastic vintage items, all in shades of pink, naturally! ? I'm already picturing them paired with my current tutu - I'll show you all my fabulous new buys in a separate blog post, promise!
Oh, but the fair isn't all about the shopping and delicious treats. There's live music, circus performers, a petting zoo, and a beautiful selection of local artwork! ??
Of course, it wouldn't be a trip with Pink Tutu Sparkles without a dance-off! ?? After a delicious roast chicken dinner and a delightful strawberry trifle at a local pub, I'm getting ready for my show at the Yeovil Summer Fair. Expect a glittering array of glitz and glam, sparkling tunes and a performance guaranteed to lift everyone's spirits! ?
This little queen will be dazzling on the stage, surrounded by hundreds of faces. It's the energy that brings me alive. It’s the joy in my heart as I bring a little sparkle to the world. I’m not just a drag queen, darling. I’m a catalyst, spreading joy and acceptance with every pink, twirling step I take. ✨
