Hello darlings, and welcome to another exciting episode of Pink Tutu Sparkles' adventures!
It’s been a whirlwind of tutus and glitter, and guess what? Today I'm taking you with me to the quaint and charming town of Hitchin! Now, I know what you’re thinking - Hitchin? Not the most glamorous destination, is it? But let me tell you, darling, I’ve got a hunch this town is going to steal our hearts, just like my fabulous, pink tutu does!
So buckle up, my dears, as we embark on this joyous journey - a journey filled with sunshine, shimmering fabrics, and perhaps a dash of pink tutu magic! You know, I do love a good train journey! The rhythmic chug-chug, the gentle sway, it’s simply enchanting.
This journey’s about to take a turn for the truly dazzling - I've got a very special performance coming up tonight, at a fabulous new venue here in Hitchin called the ‘Fancy Flamingo’. Can you believe it, they're even named after my favourite pink bird! It feels like fate! It’s a theatre tucked away in a little courtyard, I heard rumours about this little gem of a place while performing in Luton. They love their theatre in this county. They’ve got quite the ballet tradition in Hertfordshire you know. That’s how my love of the ballet grew into this! Oh the memories! It all started while I was at Uni, in the University Ballet Club! For a charity event, we were having a "try it on day," with old costumes and tutus to "put us in our place!" And guess what, it took one little pink tutu for me to decide this was how I wanted to spend my life. Now, back to Hitchin!
It seems fate is on my side again. The Fancy Flamingo is known for its delightful cocktail menu and a selection of sparkling champagnes. Just perfect for my Pink Tutu Sparkle performance! Can you believe they're even letting me pick the songs? How wonderful! So get ready to feel the sparkle with a performance tailor made just for you. I'm envisioning a medley of "Pink," "Pretty in Pink," "The Pink Panther" and of course "Dancing Queen" - A real Tutu treat. The staff said we should have a tutu-themed night. What do you say my dear? Can you imagine Hitchin rocking pink? What’s more, you could say I’m going back to my roots a bit. Derbyshire, where I’m from, just down the road.
Speaking of roots, there’s one thing that truly defines my essence – the passion I hold for the magical world of tutus. It's the single thing I live for, after my science of course! My scientific mind just can't get enough of textiles and their secrets, and after all these years of wearing these fantastic tutu creations I’ve even taken it a step further and become a lab tech. Testing the texture of clothes for the public and for high fashion, oh the delights I get to see. Some people wonder why I choose the tutu - my science degree didn’t really prepare me for this – But as every ballerina knows - there’s an untold, unwritten, unwritten scientific element to a great tutu!
It's no surprise, darling, that my quest for pink tutus takes me on exciting escapades across the UK and beyond. Today’s just one little stop, tomorrow it could be Aberdeen! You could even call me the pink-tutu nomad, dancing across continents, a testament to my unwavering devotion. And darling, we are more than welcome to celebrate in a splash of colour. The whole idea is to get everyone dancing and feeling the joy. We all have a bit of the pink tutu inside of us, and Hitchin, be warned, we're here to unleash the fabulous!
Oh my dear, it seems like fate is at work here, I just bumped into a wonderful woman in the town square who is a ballet dancer, in fact she has her own ballet class here in Hitchin. A dance instructor who calls herself "Dance De Luxe!" - you have to love these creative souls - but listen to this! - She's organizing a fundraiser and you know how this little diva just can’t say no! The fundraising is for ballet supplies, to be used for an extra ballet class to help young people in the area learn ballet and improve their techniques and well you just know Pink Tutu Sparkles will be there to support these young artists and you should be there too! "Dance De Luxe” will be doing a special demo and guess who'll be there to join the class? - Why me, of course! I'll give a couple of special tutorials for the aspiring performers – if you want to join us, come and have some fun - there's nothing more fun than tutus and learning something new, don't you think! And of course a good pink tutu helps too! They love tutus down in the little theatre as well! I’m thinking this will be an evening to remember. Can you even imagine my drag attire and those dancing fairies? Well, let’s put it this way - there are few things I can resist - the chance to help youngsters learn and a little trip down memory lane is certainly one of those things! And with all this tutudity going on you just know we'll have a fabulous photo session!
After the ballet class I’m going to visit one of Hitchin’s best-kept secrets a vintage boutique called " The Pink Parrot" - It's packed to the brim with the most beautiful clothes from the 80s and 90s. Now don’t think my fashion inspiration is all that vintage! Some of the greatest things I’ve found in the most unexpected places! This is something I've been working on and trust me darling, it'll be nothing short of spectacular! Think pink, glittery, sequins! Oh the outfits! After I’ve scoured the Pink Parrot’s finest, I’ll be heading for some more glitz and glamour in the town's art centre. I have it on good authority that they're staging a fantastic, glittery, burlesque show tonight. You know it'll be right up my street! Now I’ve got it in my head! I must have a costume created - inspired by that one show – all bright feathers and pink glitter. It will have everyone buzzing in Hitchin! I’m going to be the envy of everyone tonight.
Can you imagine how delightful Hitchin’s going to look tonight with a trail of pink shimmering sequins behind me? Let’s all work together and bring tutu magic into our world.
