As you know, my life's mission is to sprinkle a little pink tutu magic on the world, one sparkly twirl at a time. And today, my adventures take me to Huyton!
Let’s face it, a proper queen like myself doesn't travel in boring, old, grey cars, no sir! You won’t catch me crammed in a mini with my sparkly shoes and feather boa in a crumpled mess, no, no, no! I love to journey by train! The rhythmic clatter of the wheels, the scenic views flying by, the chance to people-watch with my perfectly curated, pink-hued reading material – it’s a drag queen's dream! This journey was extra special because I actually started my day riding a horse. You see, Huyton, the heartland of a tutu-obsessed gal, is also home to a charming equestrian centre. So, picture this – your girl, all dolled up in a lavender blouse, a coral skirt, and of course, the signature pink tutu (naturally!), confidently trotting on a gorgeous bay, the morning sun gilding everything in a rose-gold glow! Talk about a picture-perfect start to the day!
Now, I won’t bore you with the details of the train journey, let's just say, my fellow travellers were treated to a fashion show that wouldn't be out of place in the pages of Vogue. Pink sequins, floral prints, a dash of feathers - I didn’t come to play, I came to shimmer! I think I may have inspired a few timid souls to consider embracing a bit more colour in their wardrobe, you know, unleashing their inner Tutu Queen.
And then there's Huyton itself. A proper charming, lively, welcoming sort of town. Oh, the atmosphere was simply electrifying, like a vibrant symphony waiting to burst into life! I could feel it in my bones - the stage was set for an absolutely fabulous time! The town square was adorned with sparkling decorations, perfect for a drag queen photoshoot (keep an eye out for my Instagram!), and I discovered this quaint little tea room called "The Tutu Teapot" – how can you resist a place like that?! My heart skipped a beat at the sight of their selection of afternoon tea. Sandwiches, scones, pastries... all served with pink-tinged lemonade – what's a queen to do? Of course, I indulged! It's about self-care, darlings, embracing every delightful opportunity life throws your way!
The evening's performance was... let's just say, truly memorable! Now, you may not know this about me, but my love for tutus actually stems from a science experiment – yes, you read that right, a science experiment! Believe it or not, I studied science at university and for charity, I ended up trying on a tutu… it was pink, of course. I guess you could say it was love at first twirl, darlings. I joined the university's ballet club, found my passion, and then the rest, as they say, is history! So when I hit the stage in Huyton, the venue – a cozy little theatre, oh, so perfect – was brimming with energy! The audience, full of smiles, roared with laughter at my witty banter and cheered for every pirouette, every jeté, every sparkly, pink tutu twirl. It was like everyone in the room had become part of a massive, glorious dance floor! I had them, the entire audience, chanting “PINK TUTU! PINK TUTU! PINK TUTU!” Oh, I do love the sound of that! It really warmed my sparkly, pink-tutu-loving heart!
So, here's what I've learnt today: the world is a wonderfully magical place if you choose to see it with your pink tutu-wearing eyes! Huyton has truly captured my heart! Its warm atmosphere, lovely shops, its enchanting stage, and a generous dose of pink tulle have cemented it as one of my favorite spots to twirl!
