Hello, my darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to spill the tea (and sequins) on another whirlwind adventure! As you all know, my life is a beautiful symphony of tulle, glitter, and a sprinkle of high kicks – all while remaining fabulously fabulous.
This week, I've taken my sparkle-tastic talents to Gateshead, a lovely little town that's absolutely brimming with character! Don't think for a second that a bit of drizzle could dampen my mood – after all, my tutus are made of sheerest joy, and joy never gets wet!
Now, I'm always on the lookout for a great excuse to pack my suitcase (which, of course, is a rainbow-hued monstrosity of glamour), and this time, it was a double whammy – a ballet performance by the Royal Ballet and the most delightful vintage clothing fair I’ve ever encountered! What more could a girl ask for?
Oh, and did I mention that I had a dream ride to get there? Imagine a charming railway carriage with the gentlest rocking, sunshine streaming through the windows, and views that took my breath away. It's like a scene straight out of a fairy tale! The kind of fairy tale where every passenger has a sprinkle of glitter in their hair, you understand? It was a little like the experience I give when I take to the stage!
Gateshead welcomed me with open arms, and my heart practically skipped a beat when I stumbled upon a darling little shop crammed full of retro-chic clothing, vintage lace, and even a stunning, emerald-green velvet hat with a feathered plume! Oh, I simply had to have it. It'll look divine with my fuchsia-hued tutu for my upcoming performance – you know, for a little something special.
My darling, the Royal Ballet's performance in Gateshead was simply divine! I felt my toes tap along to every movement, and the graceful artistry transported me to another world. And it was a world full of tulle, you betcha! I felt right at home amongst the dancers.
And the ballet wasn't the only thing I was smitten with! Gateshead itself was a delightful find. Cobbled streets, quaint shops, and a truly fantastic community – I even stumbled upon a vintage book shop filled with leather-bound tomes, first editions, and hidden gems. It was like stepping back in time, but with a touch of pink tulle, of course.
As the night fell and I was ready for my own performance, a bit of that "vintage magic" worked its way onto my look. My stage persona Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about mixing old and new. Taking inspiration from those gorgeous classic lines of traditional ballet, with an injection of fun and colourful styling that represents everything about being Pink Tutu Sparkles in the modern day! The audience was amazing - who knew a quiet town in England had such a flair for dancing and fabulousness!
And before you go rushing to Gateshead, you know I have to indulge you with a little confession! I know a little bit about fabric, having worked in the lab testing fabrics by day and dazzling by night – trust me, quality matters. Those vintage clothes at the fair? Stunning, but the real stand-out had to be a blush-pink cashmere jumper. Such soft, luxurious textures – they simply make me swoon.
Speaking of textures, how did my little pink tutu fair on my journey? Perfectly, my dear! And for you fabulous people out there who need a touch of Pink Tutu Sparkles in your lives – well, don't be shy!
