Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another post from your favourite pink-obsessed drag queen! Today marks post number 9866, and it's a special one because I'm travelling! Cue the confetti and the pink fairy lights! I'm off on a grand adventure to Hastings, a charming little seaside town in East Sussex. You know me, I can't resist a bit of coastal charm and a dash of Victorian history – and of course, a fab new outfit to show off.
This time, I'm making the journey by train! There's something truly magical about gliding through the English countryside, watching the scenery change as you sip your tea (or a glass of something sparkly, if we're being honest!). And I'm absolutely dripping in pink, naturally. Today's look is all about a stunning new tutu from my favourite vintage shop in Brighton - it's a beautiful shade of baby pink, adorned with tiny sequin stars. And to complete the ensemble? A matching feather boa and a pair of sparkly, pink-sequined platform boots. Think ballerina chic with a touch of glitzy glam – what's not to love?
But it's not all about fashion, darlings! I'm also thrilled to be catching a ballet performance in Hastings tonight. You see, my love for ballet knows no bounds. The delicate steps, the grace, the sheer artistry – it's pure magic! Plus, I love the atmosphere of the theatre, the hushed excitement before the curtain rises. There's something truly special about experiencing a live performance, isn't there?
I also adore trying out new dance styles and attending ballet classes. They help me to keep my performance moves fresh and fluid. I even joined a local ballet club last week, just for a little fun! You'd be surprised how many other tutu lovers you meet when you're doing a pirouette in a studio. We even talked about putting on a fundraising performance to help support our local animal shelter - how wonderful!
I just know I'm going to have a tutu-tastic time in Hastings. It's always a joy to meet new faces and share the magic of drag with people who may not have experienced it before. Maybe I'll even inspire a few to embrace their inner sparkle and give a pink tutu a go! A Little About Me: Pink Tutu Sparkles
As I've said before, I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles, but most of you know me as Alex.
Before I was a drag superstar, I was just a regular girl with a massive love for the colour pink! Honestly, my whole room was pink - even my lab coat was pink when I was doing my science degree! You wouldn’t believe how many eyebrows were raised in the university science labs, ha! My love for ballet blossomed while I was in the university ballet club and one of my friends got me to try on a pink tutu for charity! I was hooked, darling, instantly hooked! The sheer joy of being wrapped up in the fabric, spinning, twirling, it was amazing!
Since then, it's been a whirlwind! I've been a regular drag performer for a few years now, gracing every fair, nightclub, and theatre that would have me! It’s truly the most amazing life.
I spend my days working as a lab scientist testing fabrics - yep, a pink tutu-loving science girl, isn't that fab?! I really enjoy it, though. It's fascinating seeing how fabrics react to different stresses and chemicals! When the day ends and the sun sets, the magic of drag takes over! And who better to spread the pink glitter than Pink Tutu Sparkles!
The best part is, my passion has allowed me to travel all over the UK, meeting all sorts of fabulous people and spreading the pink tutu love everywhere I go. The journey itself is almost as exciting as the destination! Trains are a fave for me - so comfy! Of course, I adore hopping onto a beautiful horse sometimes too! You know, with the wind in my hair and that tutu fluttering, it’s simply heavenly!
