Hiya lovelies! It’s your favourite pink tutu-wearing, glitter-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from Boston! Oh, I am so excited to be here in this incredible city. I'm bursting with stories of adventures and inspiration! Get ready for a right proper whirl through the magical world of Boston through the sparkly eyes of yours truly!
I've got to admit, getting to Boston was an adventure in itself! The train journey from New York was just absolutely dreamy. I got to wear my new vintage pink frock coat and my favourite feathered boa. Everyone on the train seemed to be staring at me in a good way, I hope, and I'm sure some even got out their phones to snap pics. They just don't have the same flamboyant flair in America as we do here in England, bless their cotton socks!
Speaking of socks, I must say, those Boston folk have style, my dears. Even in the dead of winter (they call it February here!), the ladies are strutting around with such confidence! There was this amazing vintage boutique I popped into yesterday and all the coats and dresses just screamed out to me. Now, it was tempting to add a couple to my overflowing wardrobe but let's just say it was good I left my credit card at home, it might have been an emergency situation had I been carrying it.
You know, as a queen, a girl's gotta travel in style and for me, the perfect transport has got to be a train journey. There's just something about the clickety-clack, the comfy seats, and the ever-changing scenery whizzing by. It makes me think about all the stories each place holds and how people lived there in their own way. You know, I'm an imaginative gal like that! And speaking of imaginations, can you believe my latest discovery? A hidden, intimate ballet studio tucked away in a back street, full of magical stories in every swirl and plié. The owner, Mrs. Davenport, let me in on her secret after seeing my fabulous pink tutu (you can never take me away from my favourite colour!), she’s a right character and loves a good giggle, we giggled for ages. She has invited me to watch a class this evening!
Oh, my lovelies, I am not quite ready to share about the ballet class yet, I need a good dramatic pause… So instead, I’m going to take a small break in my posting and whisk you back a couple of days before my journey. Before all the glam and glitter, the fun began with a truly heart-warming day trip in Derbyshire, you know, my little slice of the world. I wanted to get out of London and visit my parents and maybe buy some new ballet shoes, after all, the girl has got to keep up her training!
I don't know about you dears, but there is something incredibly grounding and wonderful about a countryside stroll. The air was crisp and fresh, I could almost smell the lavender fields even though I'd never even been to a real lavender field! But that's the magic of a walk through Derbyshire countryside, it really gets the imagination whirring!
And then it happened…I was walking back from a delicious afternoon tea at my favourite bakery - (yes, you can be healthy AND love a delicious bake) – and there it was. You know, the feeling? That feeling you get when you walk past something and the world seems to just click. It's kind of like looking through a kaleidoscope! It was a vintage clothing shop tucked away in a quiet cobblestone street. There, nestled among old clothes and a collection of porcelain dolls was a tutu! And not just any tutu. A pink tutu! I was like a moth to a flame.
Of course, I had to try it on. It was a little bit big, but as soon as I spun around, a giggle escaped from my lips! I couldn't stop smiling and knew it had to be mine! And that, my lovelies, is how Pink Tutu Sparkles truly began. My adventures and performances, everything! It all stems back to this moment of pure girly, happy, wonderful magic.
Anyway, I have to rush, my dear. Tonight’s the big ballet class night and I just had the best news! The Boston Ballet have invited me to join them for a short rehearsal after their main practice! I am absolutely thrilled, it feels so wonderful to be around like-minded people. I’m even considering a mini pink tutu makeover before heading to the rehearsal… you know, a splash of glitter here and a dash of sparkle there. It wouldn't be right to walk in without a little bit of extra oomph!
Stay tuned my sweet, glittery darlings, I have lots to share about my first ever rehearsal and there are other surprises in store. And do please, send me your own stories and inspiration about pink tutus. What is it about them that you find so fabulous? Have you ever felt a similar spark like I did with the pink tutu in Derbyshire? Share your thoughts! Remember to check back, I’ll post a whole load of photos tomorrow so you can see what I’m getting up to in Beantown!
Until next time, Keep sparkling!
Lots of love and hugs!
Your pink tutu-obsessed Queen!
