Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another adventure in the land of frills and fabulousness! Today, I'm whisking you off to Braintree, Essex! Yes, you read that right, a train ride, a trip to the seaside, and some serious sparkling in a little town full of charm and excitement.
This past week has been a whirl of tulle, glitter, and even more tulle! You see, I'm a creature of habit. I live by the mantra: more sparkle, more twirls, more tutus, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And this trip was the perfect excuse to embrace the life I've built: a life fuelled by passion for performance and love for all things pink!
The journey began, of course, in my humble Derbyshire home, a place where the green fields inspire my creativity and the air itself is laced with the smell of lavender. You know, just a regular day for a girl who likes to dance and who wouldn't say no to a lavender-infused pink tutu. (Maybe I'll make that for my next costume… hmmm).
This time, I opted for a rather dramatic, but delightful, train journey to Braintree. Trains are a wonderful source of inspiration, you see. A kaleidoscope of faces, conversations overheard, stories unfolding around you – it's an ever-changing tableau of humanity that reminds me why I love performing. I always end up scribbling down new ideas for my act, all thanks to the diverse characters I meet on the railway.
I always say, a trip to the seaside is the perfect antidote for the "day job" blues! Alex, the scientist in me, spends most of the day working with fabrics. Now, I’m not saying there isn't beauty in the science behind them, but for a little Pink Tutu Sparkles, nothing beats a breezy seaside promenade where I can twirl freely under the endless blue.
So, let me tell you about my amazing time in Braintree. This lovely town had some delightful shops – and oh, the fabric stores! Imagine my joy at discovering a whole collection of iridescent pink tulle, just waiting to be transformed into the next Pink Tutu Sparkles costume! Let’s just say there's going to be some serious DIY happening in the studio, soon. You wouldn't believe how many pink tutus are hiding in my dressing room – it's a full-on pink paradise!
Speaking of pink paradise, did I mention that I'll be performing a one-night-only, special Pink Tutu Sparkles show at The Braintree Theatre? That's right, I'm bringing my brand of sparkly, fun-loving magic to their stage, and I can't wait to meet the lovely people of Braintree. If you're reading this and happen to be in the area, make sure to pop by for a night of glitter, glamour, and more pink tutus than you could ever dream of!
Speaking of performance, I always try to fit in some extra dancing at any town I visit. Now, if you haven’t guessed, ballet is my other love! I may be a pink tutu queen, but beneath the frills and glitter beats the heart of a dedicated dancer. I squeezed in a beautiful performance at the Braintree Ballet School – a glorious mix of grace, beauty, and artistry that reminded me of my love for all things ballet. And wouldn’t you know it, the beautiful instructors even invited me to a beginners’ class! Who am I to resist a little twirling and pirouette in a pink tutu? The giggles from the class (it was so funny to watch my rather clumsy attempts!) still have me in stitches. But hey, it's all about the joy, right?
Braintree is definitely going on my "must visit" list again, my loves. It’s got that charm that keeps drawing you back. And who knows what pink tutu-filled adventure I'll find myself on next? Until next time, stay sparkly, stay pink, and keep dancing your way through life!
