Helloooo darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from another fabulous adventure! Today's stop? The charming town of Urmston! I absolutely adore how this place embraced me, it felt like I'd stumbled into a hidden gem of sparkle and positivity. This town oozed a warmth that reminded me of home, which for me, is always somewhere with a stage and a sparkly pink tutu.
Oh, I know you're wondering about that magnificent creation! Today's masterpiece is a swirling symphony of silk and tulle in a shade of pink I can only describe as "cotton candy sunset." I paired it with a custom-made pink-fringed jacket, designed to catch every twinkle in the lamplight (you know, the kind that gives your drag queen aura an extra special glow!). It truly made my heart flutter, especially because, oh my goodness, you guys won't believe what happened.
After a dazzling performance at the Urmston Village Fair (which, by the way, was absolutely bursting with fun!), a little girl - let's call her 'Ruby' for this story - came up to me. She had a shy look in her eyes, like a deer caught in headlights. But I could tell she was smitten with my pinkness. "Are you a princess?" she whispered. "I just know you are because you're wearing a pink tutu! Like the ones in my favourite ballet!" I knelt down, feeling a wave of warmth wash over me as her eyes lit up with wonder. I gently took her hand, holding it up and whispering, "You know, darling, you don't need to be a princess to wear a tutu. You just need a spark of joy in your heart. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are, we can all spread the pink tutu love!" I then led Ruby over to my table of merchandise, picking out the perfect pink-fringed tutu that would match her happy, vibrant energy. She grabbed her tutu and giggled, running to her mother and telling her she'd become a "sparkly dancing fairy" now, with a smile so big it illuminated the whole fair. That, my darlings, is why I do this! That moment of magic, the shared joy, the pure sparkle in her eyes... it was absolutely everything!
Before we moved onto Urmston's exciting evening agenda, I had to visit the magnificent Urmston Town Hall. Oh my word, that building! A symphony of brick and intricate stonework. I couldn't resist a quick "twirl for the gram" in front of its majestic façade. Then, after my obligatory Insta-post, I strolled along the main street, admiring the quirky shops and the cafes overflowing with laughter. My oh my, there was a cafe with a whole wall of cupcakes in a riot of pastel colours - a drag queen's paradise! I just had to pick up a raspberry pink cupcake to enjoy during my travel on the way back.
Speaking of travel, darling, my favourite part of Urmston? Its wonderful railway station! A haven of antique beauty and elegant charm. The Victorian architecture took me back to another era, and I couldn't resist taking a couple of snaps (in the reflection of one of the massive windows of course! How else could I capture the dramatic lighting and the amazing tutu?).
However, let’s face it, dear readers, even the most beautiful railway station can't hold a candle to a live ballet performance. After enjoying the picturesque train ride from Manchester Victoria, my next stop was a dazzling performance at the beautiful The Lowry Theatre, Manchester! And you know what they say about going to a show? Pink tutus and pink sequins go with every show! So I twirled onto the stage in a sparkling silver ensemble, inspired by the magnificent silvered walls and velvet seating inside the theatre. My audience went wild for it!
You see, being Pink Tutu Sparkles is more than just wearing pink tutus and putting on a fabulous show (although I must confess, I do love doing both). It's about spreading a little bit of pink magic and joy. Whether it's inspiring a little girl to wear her heart on her tutu, showing people that even a town hall can be a stage for sparkle, or just enjoying a fabulously decadent pink cupcake while sipping tea in a pastel wonderland - it's all about the tiny things that bring that special spark to life!
So, Urmston, you've officially stolen a piece of my heart. I can't wait to come back and dance on those cobblestone streets again! And as for you lovely readers, let's all get out there and spread that pink tutu magic! Don't forget, every day is an opportunity to wear a tutu (in spirit at least!). Whether you're strutting down your street, dancing in the living room, or simply sharing a smile, be the rainbow after the storm and bring a little sparkle into the world!
Until next time, darlings, stay pink and stay sparkly!
