Hiya darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from a gloriously sunny Strood! This is post number 9977 for those of you keeping track - yep, I’m that dedicated to spreading the pink tutu gospel!
I've gotta tell you, this little town’s a right gem. It's a bit off the beaten track for me, but darling, I'm not afraid to go off the beaten track in a fabulous pink tutu. I even made sure to stop by the Strood War Memorial to pay my respects while I was here - such a moving place! And you know me, darlings, I can’t resist a good old war memorial photo opportunity in my pinkest tulle. The contrast of the monument against the blush of my tutu was simply divine!
As always, my trip here was funded by the joy of performing! This weekend I had a fab gig at the Strood Market. Imagine, darlings, the sunshine on my pink tulle! It was absolute magic! The crowd was simply buzzing with excitement, and let me tell you, their reaction to my rendition of "A Little Less Conversation, A Little More Action" was positively electric. And of course, every single soul in the crowd was swaying along to the rhythm. What a brilliant feeling!
Strood's ballet scene? Pure divine!
It was absolutely my pleasure to catch a ballet performance at the lovely little Strood Town Hall. The local ballet company, the Strood Swans, absolutely floored me. You know how I adore a good twirl, and the elegance of those Swans, oh darling! It was positively spellbinding! I'm not ashamed to admit a tear rolled down my cheek during the final pas de deux, it was just so breathtaking. It was pure inspiration, reminding me why I adore all things dance, even in the most unexpected places.
The only disappointment? I missed the last dance workshop - it seems the ticket snapped up pretty quick! I should’ve booked earlier, but I can’t complain, the company has sold out every show. They're all booked up until August, with performances across the county. I'm itching to catch another one when I’m next in the area.
Now, where do I start with my shopping adventures? Strood has the most wonderful antique shops, darling, chock full of vintage loveliness! And my darling, vintage is so my style. My bag, shoes and my newest feather boa are all lovingly pre-owned. It wouldn’t be Pink Tutu Sparkles if I didn't make sure each and every piece of my costume has its own unique story. Speaking of unique, Strood Market, darling, has a real abundance of stalls, overflowing with one-of-a-kind treasures! I’ve found some wonderful things to add to my wardrobe, and I couldn’t resist getting a few presents for my family and friends back in Derbyshire. You know, I’ve made it my mission to get everyone wearing a pink tutu! It’s not too late to get yourself one for our next trip, maybe I can see you in a pink tutu next time, darlings!
On the Rails to Pink Perfection!
Speaking of travelling, this journey on the train to Strood was divine! It reminded me why I prefer rail to everything else, darling. It’s simply divine for seeing the country as it passes by your window, soaking up the countryside, feeling the sun on your face. It allows me to let my mind wander and jot down ideas for my next fabulous show, or my next fabulous post. It’s much more calming than a plane, and I’ve been known to bust out a song or two in the aisle. Nothing says Pink Tutu Sparkles better than a fabulous spontaneous dance performance in first class!
Of course, darling, I always travel with my favourite tote bag. It’s pink, of course, and emblazoned with my very own "Pink Tutu Sparkles" logo. A gal can’t go anywhere without a trusty tote for all the must-have necessities! Oh darling, let's talk necessities: lipstick, lip balm, lash glue, mirror, travel hairspray, my secret supply of shimmering glitter for adding a bit of Pink Tutu sparkle everywhere I go! That tote is always full, especially when I’m on the road! And if I get tired on the way, no worries, I can whip out my trusty travel sized sequin cushion, making sure even the most boring of journeys feels positively fabulous.
A Dash of Science for Our Fashionable Fabulosity!
But don’t think my passion for fabulousity overshadows my work life, darlings! You might know Pink Tutu Sparkles is an alias for my fabulous scientific side. That's right, I'm Alex, and I have a fascinating role at the cutting edge of textile technology. You know what I'm talking about? I'm a scientist, darlings, with a real passion for materials science. And guess what? I work with textiles. Every single day I’m analyzing, testing, and understanding fabrics, ensuring that they're the best possible quality for everything from clothes to airplanes!
Now, I won’t bore you with the details, but believe me, it's pretty darn fascinating. But let’s be real, my science lab has the best kind of atmosphere.
