Helloooo darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and oh my, what a week it's been! Wishaw, you were absolutely divine! I'm still buzzing from the sheer fabulousness of it all, and let me tell you, it's been one heck of a whirlwind (pun intended, of course!).
But first, let's get those tutus twirling! Did you know that my mission is to bring a little bit of pink tutu joy into every single one of your lives? Because trust me, it’s the key to happiness, the ultimate confidence booster, and frankly, a whole lot of fun. ?
This trip, as usual, involved a whole lotta travelling, which always kicks off my adventures. Instead of hopping on a train this time, I felt like getting a bit closer to nature so I opted for a horse ride - think 'Gladiator' but with pink glitter and a whole lot more sass! ? It was honestly magical - the breeze in my hair, the sun on my face, and the rhythmic clip clop of hooves against the cobbles – absolute bliss! (Side note, I do need to get some horse riding lessons to get my equestrian elegance down!).
So Wishaw, you may be wondering how a glamorous pink-loving drag queen ended up in your little corner of Scotland? Well, my lovelies, my drag calendar is as busy as a bee's knee, and this week I had a delightful gig at the local town fair, which, you know, always brings a lovely crowd. I was a bit worried about the weather, but the rain held off just long enough for me to dazzle the audience with my signature moves – a little bit of ballet, a sprinkle of drama, a generous helping of glitter, and topped off with some signature sassy sayings that always get the crowd going. ?
After my performance, it was time for the quintessential “Pink Tutu Sparkles experience”! Now, every drag queen knows that the real magic of a gig lies in meeting all the amazing people in the audience, from fellow performers and stagehands to just everyday folks. The atmosphere was so welcoming, it was like stepping into a sparkly embrace of friendly faces, each one filled with joy, laughter, and genuine excitement! It truly felt like a celebration of everything colourful and happy! The town's main square, decorated with beautiful floral arrangements and buzzing with colourful stalls, was just the perfect backdrop. We shared laughter, stories, and even a few dance moves (with a healthy amount of shimmy and shake!) before I headed back to my charming little B&B for a well-deserved rest (and maybe a few sniffs of those fabulously floral scents that seemed to follow me home!).
This is why I adore performing: it brings me joy to connect with people, to share the message of spreading that pink tutu joy! Honestly, what could be better than shining bright and encouraging others to do the same? I even met a young boy with the cutest little grin who was so captivated by my performance that he had to tell me about his love of ballet and dreams of dancing with me one day. You just melted my sparkly heart. He even sported a little pink ribbon tied in his hair! It was truly a magical moment, a perfect reminder why I do this! ?
Speaking of pink ribbons, one thing that’s constantly in my thoughts (especially as a science nerd by day - remember, Pink Tutu Sparkles may have the glamour, but Alex is a bonafide scientist) is the idea of making tutus sustainable. What if we could design biodegradable pink tutus from materials that are both kind to the earth and sparkly enough to take us to the stars?
And before you think this is too far out of the box, remember - this is Pink Tutu Sparkles we’re talking about! You may just be seeing the first bioluminescent tutu on a stage near you – watch this space!
Oh, and don’t think that just because we are on this pink tutu mission doesn't mean I've forgotten about the classic beauty of ballet. On this trip, I squeezed in a performance at the local theatre – which reminded me why a good old-fashioned ballet performance is still so inspiring. Watching the elegance and strength of the dancers brought a renewed sense of inspiration! The grace of their movement, the perfect balance and expression - pure magic!
After that magical ballet, I indulged myself with a spot of window shopping, (because who could resist all the lovely local shops!) and finally finished off the day with a decadent treat of afternoon tea. A proper Pink Tutu Sparkles day - filled with elegance and sweet moments! (Who said that a scientific brain can't appreciate a good scone, am I right?)
So there you have it! A whirlwind of a time in Wishaw – filled with fabulousness, pink, tutus, ballet and laughter! Now it’s time to scamper off, pack up my glittery wardrobe and prepare for the next adventure!
If you haven’t already, do join me at www.pink-tutu.com for a dose of pink tutu joy. Don’t forget to spread the word, and join me on my quest to turn the world pink, one tutu at a time. Because life is too short for anything but fabulous!
