You know me, I’m a creature of habit. My life is basically a whirlwind of glittery tulle, vibrant pinks, and enough sequins to make a disco ball jealous! So, how did this Derbyshire lass end up in Carshalton, you ask? Well, darlings, I've got a real knack for finding myself at the most fabulous events. My latest performance took place at a delightful little community festival. Think bouncy castles, delicious BBQ smells, and enough cheerful chaos to keep a dozen drag queens entertained. Honestly, the vibe was pure sunshine and happiness! ✨
This journey to Carshalton started with my beloved railway. There’s something truly magical about watching the world fly by from the window of a train, especially in the kind of vintage carriage they have down in Surrey! It was a chance to relax and prepare for the show, of course with a little makeup touch-up and a few fierce snaps of myself looking perfectly polished. #TrainGlam is always on point, you see!
As always, the outfit had to be perfectly pink! This time, I decided to bring my brand new bubblegum pink tutu, which had the most dazzling array of sequins that sparkled under the setting sun. The sheer audacity of this garment was simply divine, making every movement a spectacle of joyous fluffiness. ?
After the usual flurry of arriving, getting ready, and being engulfed in the electric excitement of the stage, the show began! And you know me, my darlings, I gave those Carshalton folk a performance they'll never forget! ?✨ It involved a hilarious lip-synch medley (complete with the classic 'It's Raining Men' because a girl needs a little sunshine, don’t you think?) and some playful improvisations that got the crowd absolutely howling. Seriously, it was an absolute triumph. The laughter was contagious, and the love from the crowd, pure and undeniable.
Later, I decided to indulge in a well-deserved Carshalton ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a truly glorious day. There's just something about a summer’s evening in Carshalton. ?☀️ The gentle scent of honeysuckle in the air, the quaint shops filled with delightful charm, and the sweet taste of local ice cream, it’s like something out of a fairytale! I know it’s not just the ice cream that makes my heart soar. It's the feeling that my love of pink tutus, fabulous dance moves, and all-round glitterific joyfulness is reaching new people. And isn’t that truly the point of it all?
You see, darlings, it wasn't so long ago that I was a shy scientist in a lab, analyzing fabrics. Yes, by day, I'm an expert on fibers and textures. It was during my studies that I found myself, for the very first time, in a tutu! It happened at a university charity event. And you know what? The moment I put that fluffy pink confection on, something shifted. A sense of empowerment, a liberation, a pure, joyful sense of "this is me" that took me over! ? I realised the world needed more pink tutus, and the Pink Tutu Sparkles persona was born. ?
After that night, my journey took off, taking me from university gatherings to quirky village festivals to the bustling stages of local theatres. My day job helps pay the bills, and performing at every event I can, that's what fuels the pink tutu magic! ?
As I finish this post, the pink twirling light of Carshalton's street lamps are twinkling outside my hotel window. And you know what? This magical adventure reminds me that every place holds the possibility of magic, of joy, of self-expression. Who knows where my next tutu-clad escapades will take me?
