Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s Tutu Tuesday! And in Ashington? This is like, a unicorn finding a glitter-encrusted tutu at a vintage disco sale – a seriously fabulous occasion!
First, let’s talk about my outfit. Okay, obviously, it’s a tutu! It's a classic pink tulle confection with layers and layers of swishy loveliness. Think 80s ballet vibes meets a pink sugar cloud and you're pretty much there. To top it all off, I'm wearing a sequined rainbow top - sparkly AND colourful? I mean, duh! Plus, my glitter unicorn hairband? Absolute must!
I know some people might think this is "too much", but come on! We're celebrating the sheer joy of tutus, the magical beauty of unicorns, and let's be real, disco is a religion. I'm just embracing all the sparkle and shine this Tutu Tuesday has to offer!
Ashington itself has become a surprisingly awesome place for Tutu Tuesdays! We have this amazing new bakery called "Whipped Dreams" – they make unicorn-shaped macarons with edible glitter, and a coffee shop with lavender lattes. It’s like walking into a pastel dream! Plus, they actually have a special Tutu Tuesday deal where they give you a free sparkly cupcake if you're wearing a tutu! This kind of fabulousness deserves a hashtag of its own: #tutuesdaydeals!
Anyway, I’m here today to talk to you about the three essential Tutu Tuesday tutu styles:
The Classic Ballerina:
We all know and love the classic ballerina tutu. It's got all those gorgeous tiers of tulle, the little elastic band around the waist – you know the one! Think 'The Nutcracker', 'Swan Lake', but make it 2023, not a 19th-century opera house. I've seen a couple of people in Ashington rocking this style - one lady was even wearing a beautiful blush pink tutu over a simple white sundress! It's just so chic.
The Disco Queen:
Okay, disco has never gone out of style, so why shouldn’t the disco queen tutu follow suit? Think 70s glamour with more, MORE, sparkle. Sequins, fringing, maybe even a tiny feather boa? Absolutely! I spotted one gal wearing a silver fringed tutu with a pink leopard print top and it just screamed disco vibes.
The Unicorn Magic:
Obviously, I love anything unicorn, and that includes unicorn tutus. There are a lot of adorable unicorn tutus in every color imaginable - rainbow colors are the best! You've got the 'fluffy' unicorn tutu with the faux fur mane and tail – these are absolutely to die for! And then you have the sequin unicorn tutus – literally just sparkly perfection.
Of course, it's all about the unicorn horn - whether you have a glittery horn headband or go full-on unicorn hair with a horn woven into your hair (which I absolutely love), the unicorn horn is crucial for Tutu Tuesday! The more unicorn vibes you can muster, the better!
