Tutu Tuesday in Gateshead: A Unicorn-tastic Ballet Extravaganza! 🦄✨

Hello darlings! It’s your girl, Belle, and let me tell you, Tutu Tuesday in Gateshead was absolutely sparkling! ☀️💖 The sun was shining, the birds were singing (well, chirping, really), and I was rocking my absolutely divine unicorn-themed tutu. This wasn't just any tutu, babes, this was a full-on statement. Think shimmery lavender tulle, with a sparkling pink unicorn horn on the bodice (naturally!) and rainbow streamers trailing behind me like a disco-tastic fairy trail! 🌈✨

I knew I needed something truly special for Tutu Tuesday, a day that is basically a sacred holiday for any self-respecting tutu aficionado. It’s the day we celebrate the beauty, grace, and ultimate fabulousness of a well-crafted tutu. But, to be honest, I think Tutu Tuesdays are really all about expressing ourselves. We all have our own style - some prefer the classic romantic tutu, others go for the modern, geometric lines, and then there's me…all about whimsical magic! 🦄

So, where better to showcase my tutulicious unicorn tutu than Gateshead? You all know I love a good dance sesh, and Gateshead has become a real haven for ballet lovers! There's The Sage Gateshead, with its incredible auditoriums, the Gateshead International Festival of Theatre, and the Quayside, just begging to be danced upon!

As I strutted down the Quayside, my unicorn tutu trailing behind me like a mystical dream, I could feel the vibes shifting. Passersby smiled, people stopped to chat, and even a pigeon (a little nervous, I think) attempted a little tap dance routine! The best part, though? It's the genuine joy that Tutu Tuesdays brings. The whole world just seems a bit brighter, a bit more fun, when you’ve got a bunch of girls strutting their stuff in tutus. It's a reminder that sometimes, we just need to embrace the silly and magical. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to be a shimmering, rainbow-tinged unicorn for a day?!

My bestie, Olivia, and I decided to really amp things up and turn our Tutu Tuesday into a full-blown tutu spectacle. She'd gone for a super elegant black tutu with a fluffy, feathered headpiece. Total ballerina chic, but she even had a touch of my whimsy, a single glittering purple butterfly nestled in the feathered crown. We danced by the River Tyne, performing some of our favourite pieces, adding in a few silly ballet poses to keep the passersby entertained.

My favourite moment? This adorable little boy who couldn't be more than four, watched us in wonder for a solid ten minutes. He then announced, with an air of absolute authority, "I want to wear a tutu too!". See? I told you Tutu Tuesdays have a way of touching hearts!

As the sun started to set, painting the sky in fiery hues, Olivia and I made our way to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge for a final tutu twist! With the cityscape reflecting in the Tyne and the setting sun making our tutus glow, we did a little celebratory twirl - the perfect ending to a truly unforgettable Tutu Tuesday.

We ended the evening with a glass of sparkling lemonade (don’t judge, it’s my favorite!), sharing stories and planning our next Tutu Tuesday adventures. It's these moments, with the ladies, the music, and of course, the tutus, that make life so much fun.

And to you lovely readers, remember: You don’t need to be a professional dancer to enjoy a Tutu Tuesday. Just find your inner fairy, grab your favorite tutu (or whip up a DIY unicorn masterpiece!), and twirl your way to happiness! Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram, I’m always up for seeing your fabulously tutulicious adventures!

Happy Tutu Tuesday, darlings! 💖🦄✨
