Hello my lovelies! Itās your favourite tutu enthusiast and disco devotee here, back with another #tututuesday post. This time, Iām swapping the studio for Hampstead Heath, a stunning backdrop for a very special tutu-themed adventure. Letās just say, this week's #tututuesday is turning up the glitter and channeling all things magicalā¦ and, of course, a sprinkle of pink.
For the uninitiated, #tututuesday is all about celebrating the sheer joy and whimsy of wearing a tutu. Every Tuesday, dancers around the world (and beyond, you fabulous tutu lovers) embrace the fabulousness of this iconic garment. And today, my tutu game is reaching a whole new level.
Imagine, if you will, Hampstead Heath bathed in sunshine. Birds chirping their sweet tunes, and the scent of fresh-cut grass in the airā¦ idyllic, right? But thenā¦ a burst of colour. Iām not talking about the occasional vibrant flower or a brightly-coloured picnic blanket ā Iām talking about a dazzling rainbow of tulle.
You see, for todayās #tututuesday, I'm taking the āTutuā out of āTuesdayā and venturing beyond the usual, predictable styles. Think, less "ballerina" and more "fantasy". No boring traditional tutus today, folks! Today is about a journey to unicorn land.
Let me break down the outfit, darling. My base, a pale pink, cotton T-shirt, so I can feel comfy whilst running around, as youāll see later. To elevate it, I've thrown on a pair of sparkly gold earrings. Nothing says āfairytaleā like a little gold shimmer! But hereās where the magic truly begins:
A swirling cloud of tulle. Think pink, and all the shades that dance with pinkā¦ peaches, salmon, apricot. This wasnāt just any tutu either, this beauty was layered and layeredā¦ and for the ultimate statement, a large pink bow at the front. A veritable ballerina dream, but a dream with a hint of playfulness!
This Tutu was the one piece that brought the whole "Unicorn" theme together. It reminded me of a unicornās flowing mane, its majestic grace. But I couldn't have just any unicorn tutu, this had to be the epitome of pink, sparkling, unicorn magic. And, my darlings, let me tell you, I did not disappoint.
And if you think the tutu is fabulousā¦ you ain't seen nothing yet! To take things to the next level of whimsy, I grabbed a few essential accessories:
*Unicorn horn headband: * Naturally! It's not #tututuesday without a touch of fantasy. Mine is dazzling with glitter. The horn sparkles with every movement, and you bet itās the center of attention!
*Sparkly unicorn bag: * Where can you fit all your glitter and magic, you ask? The answer: a unicorn bag, obviously! Iāve had this bad boy since forever ā a plush, fuzzy, sparkly bag with an attached sparkly horn! I might not be carrying any unicorn food in it, but it's the perfect little detail.
*White sneakers: * A splash of simplicity and comfort, because frankly, there's nothing more uncomfortable than a hard, hard, heel when you're planning to frolic!
The final, crucial touch isā¦ music. No walk through Hampstead Heath can truly feel like a unicorn adventure without a banging disco track blasting. I mean, itās not a Tutu Tuesday if you donāt throw some serious shapes!
So, with all the unicorn gear in place and the disco playing, I started my walk on Hampstead Heath. And let me tell you, it was the perfect way to bring out the child within.
I danced with the wind. The tutu floated beautifully behind me as I spun and skipped, and even took a few tumbles in the long grass, which always brings out the giggles, a proper little ballet girlās play session, and a very fitting #tututuesday celebration!
Of course, being a true Tutu Tuesday devotee, I couldn't resist capturing every magical moment on film. Because how can you have an unicorn themed #tututuesday without capturing it for the world? So, as you all know, a few snaps had to be taken!
First up, the iconic Hampstead Heath Pond. Itās always a little serene ā you get all these pretty swans gracefully swimming. I decided to add a little touch of magical chaosā¦ a unicorn-tutu spin around the edge of the pond. Just imagine the scene - a splash of pink against the vibrant greens and blues, with a soundtrack of upbeat disco hits! The swans seemed to love the addition to their day too! They honked happily in time with the beatā¦ which you all know is the very highest compliment any tutu enthusiast could ask for!
Then, I wandered down the paths of the heath, letting my eyes absorb the glorious summer colours. I posed by the quaint cafes, all sunshine and bloomsā¦ I can tell you that a sparkly, glittery tutu makes every single, ordinary place just a little bit more extra. But donāt tell the people on Hampstead Heath, it was secret !
And letās not forget about the little humans that made their way to the Heath this day. A group of adorable children were completely mesmerised, they just couldnāt stop giggling! Who can blame them? A vision of pink sparkles, and a dance-floor on grass, that was me giving them a glimpse of a truly enchanting #tututuesday.
You know, thereās something undeniably magical about embracing tutus, even more so with a sparkly unicorn vibe. I may not be able to actually ride a unicornā¦ but wearing a tutu is close enough for me, and thatās all that really matters. Plus, Iām creating a little bit of magic wherever I go, and thatās something that always makes my #tututuesday even more special.
It makes me thinkā¦ if a tutu can transform your day, just imagine the power you have when you embrace your own whimsy and do it with a whole lot of heart!
