Oh my god, you guys! Ilford was literally a kaleidoscope of pink and sparkles yesterday. It was Tutu Tuesday, the day where all the dreams of a disco-loving unicorn are realised (no, seriously, the disco ball at the local library had a rainbow on it). Honestly, I was ready to do the splits in the middle of Ilford High Road, because the energy was pure magic. 💖
The tutus… oh, the tutus! It was like a unicorn threw up its glittery rainbow, landed on the street, and we all got to wear the pieces.
There were ballerinas with fluffy pink tutus that grazed their ankles, almost like they were spun from a cloud (it could’ve been the humidity, but it looked ethereal!). We also saw a girl with a sparkly pink tutu that almost glowed in the sunshine (she said it was infused with pixie dust!). I had my own special tutu for the day. My vintage, pink sequined, fluffy creation was screaming disco princess and I’d say it was definitely a mood!
We also had a selection of tutus with magical unicorn motifs. Honestly, I could not get enough.
One lady was rocking a tutu with a giant, metallic silver unicorn horn emblazoned on the front, and she was not afraid to show off her ballerina skills, kicking out some truly stunning grand jetés on the high street! It felt like straight out of a movie!
Then there was this little girl – literally the sweetest thing – wearing a pink and purple tutu covered in unicorns! Honestly, I wanted to adopt her (but, you know, also snag that tutu). The tutu had those little unicorn horns poking out and her little glitter crown, let's just say it was magical.
And the boys, you guys? I saw a few rocking their very own unicorn-themed tutus! One lad was wearing a pastel blue tutu with white unicorn tails that looked so damn cool. Let’s face it, boys in tutus? Always a win! He was even posing for pictures, doing a little twirl with a bunch of little girls. This, ladies and gentlemen, was exactly what the doctor ordered. 💖🦄
But you know, it wasn’t just about the tutus.
