Huyton Gets Its Sparkle On: Tutu Tuesday Goes Full Unicorn! 🦄✨

Alright, lovelies! It’s your girl, Belle, here, reporting live from the magical land of Huyton, where the sunshine’s dazzling, the birds are singing disco tunes, and the only acceptable form of footwear is… wait for it… tutus!

Yes, you heard me right! Huyton, a place normally known for its charming pubs and suspiciously low-priced chip shops, transformed into a glittery haven of tulle and rainbow-hued dreams yesterday. It was all thanks to #TutuTuesday, the annual event that brings out the inner ballerina in everyone, regardless of age, size, or… let’s be honest… level of dance skill. 😉

And this year, the theme? *Unicorns, babes! * Unicorns! It was practically a fairytale! The moment I stepped into town square, I was transported into a dreamlike realm of glitter, rainbows, and magical creatures. I felt like I’d wandered into a vintage Enid Blyton novel… but with slightly better fashion choices, let's be honest. 😉

You wouldn’t believe the sheer creativity on display! We had all shapes and sizes of tutus: pouffy, flowing, and even some fabulously outrageous designs. The styles were just as diverse, from the classic "ballerina princess" look with fluffy white tutus, sparkly tiaras, and shimmery makeup, to the more adventurous "rockstar unicorn" vibes, complete with ripped fishnet tights and a touch of rebellious sparkle. (It’s the rock and roll vibe, love, I’m not even trying to explain it.)

Speaking of creative, the unicorn theme truly had folks unleashed. There were glitter horns, rainbow hair braids, wings crafted from colorful streamers… it was glorious! And the kids were absolute naturals! Little ones, some not even tall enough to reach their mom's knees, were prancing about in tutus made from blankets and colorful fabric scraps, beaming from ear to ear. Seeing their little faces light up was truly heartwarming.

The mood? Pure, unadulterated joy! It felt like everyone was on their best behaviour, just enjoying the day, embracing the magic of it all. You could literally hear the chirping and giggles filling the air, a soundtrack to the magical event. There were families picnicking on the grass, teenagers snapping selfies (in tutus!), and even some senior citizens, their eyes twinkling, rocking their own take on the unicorn trend. I saw a granny wearing a tutu made from a floral tea towel and it made me want to grab a cuppa, sing "A Little Less Conversation" and just join in!

Let's be honest, Huyton itself may not be known for its high-fashion credentials, but this #TutuTuesday really raised the bar. And speaking of bars, well, I won't tell you about my celebratory trip to the pub after a few glasses of bubbly. It involved me trying to perform the "swan lake" in a very unfortunate pair of heels... But let's just say I looked glamorous as hell while flailing!

Seriously, this was a day that reminded me of why I fell in love with the sheer joy of dance and the incredible spirit of this town. The creativity, the energy, the joy - it's a true testament to the fact that sometimes, a little bit of tulle and glitter is all you need to make the world a happier, brighter place.

So, Huyton, thank you for showing everyone what real sparkle is all about. You've definitely earned a place on the world’s Tutu Tuesday map!

And don't worry, I’ll be back next year, rocking my tutu with a vengeance (and possibly some feather boa… let’s keep this sparkly train rolling, alright?).

Until next time,

Belle.

P.S. If you haven't joined in the #tututuesday madness yet, what are you waiting for? Throw on your favourite tutu (or improvise!) and embrace the glorious, glittery chaos! 🦄✨

P.P.S: My unicorn horn-shaped stilettos are currently on back-order… but when they arrive? Watch out, world! #tututuesday #unicorntutu
