Tutu Tuesday in Morden: Glitter, Unicorns, and a Whole Lot of Twirling!

Hello, darlings! It's your girl, Celeste, here, and guess what? It's Tutu Tuesday! Cue the disco ball!

This week, I'm trading my usual London haunts for the sunny streets of Morden. I'm so excited because I've heard whispers about a fabulous gathering of tutu-loving gals, and well, you know me, I can't resist a good dose of tulle and sequins.

My outfit? A shimmering pink tulle tutu, the kind that's so puffy, it could rival a giant marshmallow. It's got all the essential tutu elements – a perfectly pleated bodice and a flurry of layers that just scream ballerina (minus the serious training and dedication, haha). And since it's summertime, it wouldn't be complete without a dash of sparkle! I'm talking a sparkly unicorn brooch perched on my bodice, because let's be real, a tutu is only as good as the unicorn-themed accessories it's adorned with!

Now, I know what you're thinking: “Tutus in Morden? Isn't that a bit… unusual?” To which I say, “Hold your horses, dear! Morden has hidden gems, and believe me, they’re just waiting to be discovered."

I’m heading to “The Unicorn Café” (did you know it existed? Neither did I!), which promises rainbow lattes, unicorn cupcakes, and all the glitter and magic you could ever need. Seriously, it's like stepping into a fairytale – the perfect backdrop for a Tutu Tuesday extravaganza!

I've been planning this all week, so I’m already stocked up on unicorn headbands, matching unicorn-themed hair clips, and the perfect unicorn purse (a glittery masterpiece with rainbow handles – it practically dances). I'm also bringing my mini rainbow flag to show off my love for all things bright, bubbly, and fabulous!

Speaking of bubbly, it's also time to discuss the real stars of the show – the tutus. I’m expecting to see a range of styles. Some might be classic, the classic one-tier tutus with a fitted bodice and a modest volume of tulle. Maybe we'll see a few ballerinas (and I'm not just talking about dance ballerinas) who have gone for dramatic, multi-tiered tutus – those glorious poofy monstrosities that make you want to gasp and shriek with joy (or at least give them a hearty, “You go girl!”). And of course, we can’t forget about the tutus that are layered to the hilt with sparkles, feathers, and more bling than a Vegas casino!

So, join me in the fabulous wonderland that is Morden this Tuesday! It's going to be a day full of laughter, friendship, and, of course, some seriously awesome twirling. Let’s make this Tutu Tuesday unforgettable! And be sure to use #tututuesday and #unicorntutu so we can all see your fabulousness!

(Later that day)

OK, darlings, I’m back and I have to tell you, Morden definitely exceeded all my expectations!

The Unicorn Café was exactly as magical as it sounded. Seriously, I think they got all their fairy dust straight from Neverland! They have this incredible garden area where they host themed events (apparently they have a 'Disco Glitter Night' coming up!), which is exactly where the Tutu Tuesday party took place.

First things first, let’s talk about the crowd. You know, we’ve all had our one friend who thinks she’s too good for anything even remotely quirky. I was pleasantly surprised – there were some serious tutu veterans! I was immediately drawn to this woman named Sharon (whose age I can’t possibly guess – I know you're wondering!). She wore this breathtaking, multi-tiered rainbow tulle tutu that literally stopped traffic – people were snapping pics as she strolled by!

Of course, there were a few classic tutus – those effortlessly chic ones that perfectly encapsulate both sophistication and fun. But, for my money, the unicorns and the sparkles truly made the day! The atmosphere was buzzing – everyone was just so excited to be surrounded by other tutu lovers! The garden was like a rainbow wonderland. People were throwing glitter bombs, blasting 70s disco classics (ABBA played nonstop!), and just freely twirling with giant smiles on their faces. It was everything I hoped for and more.

We even had a impromptu tutu-twirling contest – Sharon won, of course!

I was pleasantly surprised by how accepting the atmosphere was – people weren't worried about looking silly, they were all embracing the tutu life! Even the most skeptical faces (there are always those, aren’t there?) were giggling by the end, twirling with abandon and just enjoying the ridiculousness of it all.

The only downside? I have unicorn confetti in my hair, glittery lip gloss on my face, and my new purse is stained with a little too much rainbow sprinkles. But hey, all those details scream fabulous, right?

If you’re in Morden and you have a spare tutu in your closet, grab your best friend and head to the Unicorn Café – you won't regret it. And be sure to post your #tututuesday snaps on social media! This was a tutu-tally incredible Tuesday and I already can't wait for the next one!

Until then, stay fabulous!
