My morning began with a quick peek into my tutu drawer. Today was all about channeling that enchanted forest, sprinkled with unicorn glitter vibe. So, a majestic, full-length, pale pink tutu it was, the kind that practically shimmers with fairy dust. Think tulle layers that could rival the grandest princess ball, but with a whisper of shimmery, magical starlight woven in. Let's just say it was absolutely dreamy! Paired with a whimsical, crop-top, complete with a little sparkly unicorn applique, it was all the magical girl I ever wanted to be. My pointe shoes, oh, my pointe shoes, were custom-painted, gleaming with unicorn horns and silver glitter – a perfect statement of sassy ballet sass and magical whimsy.
For the location, the glorious, green expanse of Wrexham's park seemed perfect. It was practically a fairy tale come true, a giant open-air stage begging to be graced by Tutu Tuesdays. The sunlight danced through the leaves like golden spotlights, highlighting the magic of this enchanting place. And yes, I am that dramatic, sue me! The setting couldn’t have been more idyllic – you know, for those serious ballerina Insta snaps! My personal photographer (otherwise known as my very patient boyfriend) got to work, capturing my intense ballerina gaze against the stunning backdrop.
Now, about Wrexham... this town is officially claiming the #tututuesday crown for sheer, unapologetic unicorn-love. Every nook and cranny pulsated with mythical, iridescent magic! From the street market stall that proudly displayed shimmering unicorn headbands (and a truly amazing pink unicorn glitter hairspray!) to the little café called ‘The Enchanted Unicorn’ serving rainbow lattes and a mean piece of cake (seriously, a unicorn horn cake!), it was truly a unicorn lover’s paradise! Even the ice cream van playing disco tunes was decorated with unicorn-themed, pink sprinkles - like they understood my soul.
The people, oh the people! You could see the gleam of magic in everyone's eyes as they passed, it was truly an exhilarating experience. We shared grins, a couple of high fives (you gotta stay energized!), and everyone was just... sparkly! Wrexham’s atmosphere felt like it had been lifted straight out of a magical, dreamy, glitter-infused fairground. And no, I’m not even joking, I actually encountered a group of children with their faces painted with the most gorgeous unicorn face art! One of the mothers said "we're doing this every week" with an infectious grin - the kids clearly think they're in wonderland. It was just magic!
Of course, no magical journey is complete without a little impromptu ballet. After a quick spin in the park (think dazzling pirouettes in my sparkly pink tutu, obviously!), we made our way to Wrexham's "Funky Disco" nightclub - a total blast from the past! And guess what, they were fully onboard with Tutu Tuesdays! I literally swooned. They’d decked out their dance floor with a sparkling, iridescent, shimmering unicorn disco ball, which was truly the ultimate crowning glory. (And believe me, I’ve seen disco balls). It was truly a vision! They had a fabulous DJ spinning tunes that made you want to spin, twirl and prance. We had a serious blast in the dazzling glow of disco lights and glittering glitter. Oh, the unicorn magic truly worked its wonders!
