As a ballerina and fashion enthusiast, there's no greater day for expressing your inner disco goddess and spreading some joy than Tutu Tuesday. You can't deny, a splash of pink on a gloomy Tuesday is like sunshine on a dreary day!
The idea for Tutu Tuesday actually started in a Parisian cafe. Picture this: a beautiful Parisian afternoon, filled with the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked pastries and the melodic strains of a street performer playing his accordion. I was sipping my cafe au lait, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors and fashion. A friend told me about Tutu Tuesday in a far off land (the land of Liverpool!), where women took to the streets wearing tutus - for fun. And right then, an idea bloomed like a gorgeous pink peony! I decided right there that Liverpool was calling my name. It was time to create some #discotutu magic.
My Liverpool journey started at the Liverpool One Shopping Centre. Oh my! The amount of pink there! I grabbed myself a killer, blush pink tutu. It’s that tutu that makes your heart flutter – short and full. And guess what? Pink is not just a color for little girls! Pink is powerful. Pink is chic. It's like a secret code between all the sassy ladies who love to have fun.
Later on, the day reached fever pitch with the legendary #discodolphin - a huge pink disco ball that danced through the city centre - just like a disco dolphin leaping in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean! It was pure delight watching all the tutued ladies shimmy and shake to the disco beats! Every shop window had vibrant, iridescent pink displays, reminding everyone what #tututuesday is all about! The iconic Liver Birds looked dazzling in their pink attire too - quite a statement. The vibe of Liverpool on a Tutu Tuesday is infectious. A genuine outpouring of joy and happiness.
The streets of Liverpool pulsated with vibrant tutus – all shapes and sizes, all colours, from traditional to avant-garde. It was a beautiful celebration of individuality and embracing what makes you feel truly fabulous! Some ladies wore tulle, some wore satin, and some opted for velvet. We had a tutu for every occasion – long tutus, short tutus, full-circle tutus. Even our adorable pups were sporting custom-made tutus, bringing joy to every passer-by.
