Tutu Tuesday in High Wycombe: Let’s Get This Party Started! #tututuesday

Hey there, fashionistas! It's your girl, Ella, back with another dazzling installment of "The Ballerina's Blog." Today, I’m hitting the streets of High Wycombe, which means one thing and one thing only – it's **Tutu Tuesday**!

As you all know, Tutu Tuesday is my absolute favourite day of the week. For those who haven’t joined the Tutu Tuesday party yet, this is when we ditch the mundane and embrace the extravagant, the fabulous, and the… well… tutu-licious! Think fluffy tutus in every colour imaginable, from pastel pink to shimmering gold, and even those wild and wonderful multi-coloured creations. It’s a time to unleash your inner ballerina (or disco queen) and have some fun with fashion.

I woke up this morning feeling super sparkly, like a disco ball ready to take over the town! The perfect day for a new, fluffy tutu and a playlist pumping out my favourite ABBA tunes. I went for a romantic, flowing pastel pink tutu – perfect for a bit of twirling and letting my inner princess shine. I also love pairing a tutu with a sparkly vest top. It's a touch of vintage glamour and really lets the tutu take center stage!

My journey through High Wycombe took me on a whirlwind tour of all things Tutu Tuesday. There was the amazing team at The Dance Boutique who were ready to guide anyone and everyone into the world of tutus. We’re talking tutus for every occasion: There’s the classic ballet tutu, with its delicate layers of tulle that makes every girl feel like a real ballerina, the more casual 'everyday' tutu, perfect for adding a bit of fun to your day, and the seriously sassy tutu - which will add a pop of color to your weekend outfits. Of course, the shop’s owner, the wonderfully fashion-forward Sarah, threw in some fabulous styling tips for anyone looking to up their Tutu Tuesday game.

From the Dance Boutique, I headed to The Swan Theatre – an amazing little local theater. A quick glance through the window showed the rehearsal for the latest show, featuring some stunningly elaborate tutus in shimmering purple and deep red – a real celebration of color and movement. I got a few amazing pictures! If you get the chance to catch a show at the Swan, I highly recommend it!

The best bit about Tutu Tuesday in High Wycombe has to be the fact that everyone is in on it – from High Wycombe's own fabulous mayor, rocking a bright yellow tutu (seriously, what a fabulous fashion move!), to the café owner who surprised me with a special Tutu Tuesday cupcake, decorated with a tiny tutu, in pink icing – you really have to see it to believe it! Every High Wycombe cafe and boutique seemed to have joined the fun with their own special Tutu Tuesday treats!

Of course, Tutu Tuesday wouldn't be complete without a dash of disco and a sprinkle of dolphin magic! You see, the High Wycombe crowd are embracing all things disco this month. In fact, I’ve seen disco ball decorations popping up everywhere! Now, if you follow my blog, you know how much I adore disco! My all-time favourite dance move? The classic disco "dolphin", where you move your arms up and down, as if mimicking a dolphin swimming, and do a quick spin while keeping your arms straight! And that, my friends, is the only move worthy of a Tutu Tuesday dance floor!

I'm talking everything from flashing lights to funky tunes. And if you haven't seen a disco dolphin in action, you're missing out! #discodolphin. Just imagine a group of friends dancing, each in a beautiful tutu, twirling to "Stayin' Alive" with their arms moving like dolphins! Now that’s a party!

High Wycombe is a town with so much to offer - stunning historic buildings, vibrant parks, and incredible local shops - all of which made my Tutu Tuesday adventure even more special. So if you’re looking for a fantastic way to spice up your Tuesday and unleash your inner fashionista, pack a glittery handbag, slip into a fabulous tutu, and head to High Wycombe – I guarantee you’ll be having the time of your life. See you next Tutu Tuesday! #tututuesday #discotutu

Here's a quick rundown of the different tutu styles we encountered on our High Wycombe adventure, and what makes each one unique:

  • The classic ballet tutu: Known for its layers of delicate tulle that float around you as you twirl – think ballerina-chic.
  • The everyday tutu: Designed to be casual, chic, and practical, great for throwing over jeans, shorts, or dresses.
  • The sassy tutu: For those who want to add a playful edge to their look. Think bold colours and playful designs!

Until next time, keep your smiles bright and your tutus twirling!
