It's a Tuesday. It's Chatham. It's Tutu Tuesday! I'm talking, of course, about that fabulous event in Chatham, where every Tuesday (oh the irony!) is dedicated to the joy of tutus. This week's Tutu Tuesday theme? Disco. Yep, you read that right. This town is bursting with enough shimmer and sequins to put Studio 54 to shame. #tututuesday
I love the diversity of styles at Tutu Tuesday - there's a look for everyone! We have the classic Romantic tutus - oh, those billowing tulle layers, a timeless ballet beauty. The ballerina-in-training look (I still dream of a fluffy pink tulle masterpiece - think Swan Lake meets cotton candy). The quirky tutus - this week, it's disco, so think metallics, feathers, and lots of pink, darling. But there’s no limit! You can come in your regular tutu - just add some glitter. I've been living in Chatham for the last few months. You’d be surprised at what’s going on in this historic town, even on a Tuesday! (Chatham is definitely more than just historical dockyards, in case you were wondering. 😉). So, this Tuesday, I rocked a vintage tutu – a blush pink one with silver sequined accents. Perfect disco vibes! For my outfit, I thought big hair, bright makeup and glittery disco heels! I had the time of my life – the whole town was dancing like they were in Saturday Night Fever. Even the local shops got into the groove! It was delightful seeing shop owners and customers shimmying together. We are truly one big, glittery family.

They have an awesome retro disco night every Tuesday - all thanks to Tutu Tuesday. It’s a legendary, local hangout! The disco dolphin itself? It's more than just a statue, it’s a local icon and definitely an integral part of #tututuesday Imagine a 6 foot tall bright pink dolphin, its body encrusted with mirrors. Just looking at the Disco Dolphin, I start bopping to the rhythm of my own heart! It is one heck of a conversation starter. You can even have your picture taken with this sassy seaside creature – they are great at posing for pics!
This is exactly why I love living in this town. It's full of surprises, and the people are so incredibly friendly. Whether you're a tutu fanatic or just looking for a fun night out, you're sure to have a great time at Tutu Tuesday in Chatham.
