Tutu Tuesday in East Ham: A Pink-tastic Parade!

Let's be honest, you can never have too much pink, especially when it comes to tutus! Today, the streets of East Ham were alive with the most dazzling displays of frills and fluff. That's right, it was Tutu Tuesday, and it's safe to say we've seen more pink than a flamingo's favourite holiday destination.

I started my Tutu Tuesday journey at the bustling market, where stalls overflowed with colorful wares and vibrant personalities. A gaggle of giggling girls sporting bouncy, pastel-hued tutus skipped past, their infectious laughter a reminder of the pure joy that a simple tulle garment can evoke.

But this wasn't just about any tutu – no, this was #tututuesday, a day dedicated to the iconic and oh-so-versatile garment. The East Ham crowd embraced the theme wholeheartedly, showcasing a magnificent spectrum of tutu styles. From classic and elegant to bold and eccentric, every single tutu had its own unique charm.

• I spied a group of dancers adorned in the most magnificent tutu ensembles - think cascading layers of fluffy tulle, perfectly balanced with sleek black leotards. Their synchronized movements created a captivating spectacle that drew crowds, transforming the marketplace into a temporary dance stage.
• Next up, we had the "Everyday Tutu," a collection of vibrant tutus reimagined for casual wear. Picture denim jackets and trainers paired with a sprinkle of tulle – the epitome of effortless style, proving that tutus are not just for the stage.

But of course, no Tutu Tuesday would be complete without a tribute to the iconic Disco Era! And that's where #discotutu comes into play. Think glittering sequins, dramatic poufs of tulle, and the undeniable rhythm of Donna Summer pumping through the air.

The afternoon was filled with an abundance of #discotutufashions: • We saw bold prints with geometric patterns in the vibrant colours of the disco ball – emerald green, sapphire blue, and electric orange.
• I spotted a woman rocking a glittering tutu, adorned with thousands of silver sequins, a perfect example of how tutus can become statement pieces that shout "disco baby!"
• One group even paid homage to the legendary #discodolphin. Their matching tutus featured bold splashes of neon colours, swirling dolphin motifs, and shimmering sequins – an undeniably fun tribute to a symbol of 70s style.

Tutu Tuesday in East Ham wasn’t just about fashion; it was a vibrant display of community spirit. It was heartwarming to witness everyone embracing the day with joy, a shared appreciation for the unique and joyful qualities of tutus. From a grandma sporting a tutu she'd repurposed from an old wedding gown to a little girl pirouetting in a handmade creation, each tutu carried a story.

As I headed home, I was already dreaming up my next tutu masterpiece for next week’s Tutu Tuesday. The joy of dancing around town, showcasing your individuality and embracing the beauty of a well-crafted tutu is infectious! See you there next week East Ham, because this #tututuesday was just the beginning!
