Tutu Tuesday in Hornchurch - A Ballet Blogger’s Paradise!
Oh, hello, fellow tutu lovers! It’s your girl, the Ballerina Blogger, back with another #tututuesday blog post, and let me tell you, today's adventures have got me feeling like a disco dolphin (and, trust me, that’s a good thing, because the Disco Dolphin is the official #tututuesday mascot, obviously)!
So, you know how sometimes you just feel a little flat and like you need a little dose of sparkle? That’s where Hornchurch comes in. Yes, it may not be the most glamorous spot on the map, but today, this humble little town was the stage for the most gloriously extravagant Tutu Tuesday ever.
I started my day with a whirlwind of pink! (I mean, can you really ever have too much pink? The answer is, of course not.) My go-to for Tutu Tuesday is, obviously, a pink tutu. Today’s ensemble was a whimsical tulle delight - imagine, if you will, a cascading symphony of hot pink, bubblegum pink, and baby pink layered like a delicious sundae. I mean, just picturing it is enough to make you want to twirl, right? I accessorized with some sparkling silver high tops, a neon pink T-shirt, and some glitter – you can never have too much glitter! Let’s just say that this girl was ready to bring the colour (and the dance moves!).
I made my way to Hornchurch's beautiful park – yes, Hornchurch has a lovely park! You wouldn't believe it, would you? Anyway, I felt the ground start to vibrate, the rhythmic thrumming of disco beats (which, FYI, are totally on-trend with Tutu Tuesday). There I found the local Tutu enthusiasts, already rocking the trend in all its glory! We had classic pouter-style tutus, layered with sequins, long flowing skirts, the whole shebang!
The highlight of my Tutu Tuesday was, hands down, the “Tutu Tuesday Disco”. Now, imagine a joyous crowd of individuals, all twirling and grooving to a gloriously catchy, old-school disco playlist under a bright pink neon sign (of course it was pink!). We had our tutu queens, a sprinkle of tutu kings (men are discovering the magic of tutus, too! Who knew?) and some cute lil' tutu pups (yes, you heard that right! Dogs in tutus!) dancing with gusto.
For those new to Tutu Tuesday, it’s an annual celebration of the power of tutus and glitter. And as I surveyed the disco scene, a thought occurred to me: this really IS the power of tutus. Wearing a tutu, no matter what kind you choose, is an instant mood-booster! It instantly turns a dreary Tuesday into a joyful, energetic affair. And you know, the beauty of Tutu Tuesday? It’s a reminder to unleash our inner ballerina. Life is too short for plain clothes! #discodolphin
