Mitcham’s Tutu Tuesday: A Whirlwind of Frills and Feathers
Hey loves, it's your girl, Lily, back with another blog post – this time straight from the heart of Mitcham! I know what you're thinking – Mitcham, not exactly the capital of fashion, right? Well, let me tell you, this little town is about to be turned on its head, thanks to the one and only… Tutu Tuesday!
So, picture this: a bunch of us girls (and a few blokes, too, you go, fellas!), all decked out in our finest tutus, swirling and twirling like a flurry of pink feathers. This wasn't your average Tuesday, no siree. It was all thanks to the brilliant initiative of local dance studio, Dance Divas, who decided to take "Tutu Tuesday" to a whole new level. #tututuesday #discotutu
Now, you know I’m a bit of a tutu aficionado. My collection is extensive and includes everything from the classic Romantic tutu with layers of tulle to the ultra-modern contemporary tutu. And believe me, it was a dream come true seeing them all on display in Mitcham!
The atmosphere was electric, as we strutted our stuff down the high street, leaving a trail of shimmering fabric in our wake. It wasn’t just about the tutus though, you know, although there was a definite tutu theme to the day. There were a couple of "Disco Dolphins" in tutus with sparkling sequins. They even had pink sunglasses to match! #discodolphin
I just love seeing people step out of their comfort zones and embrace a bit of silliness. That's what Tutu Tuesday was all about, letting go and having some fun. And you know, sometimes a little bit of tutu-wearing fun is all you need to brighten up your Tuesday!
- Let’s be real though – there was some serious style going on.
- The tutus themselves were works of art. You had the short and sassy, perfect for a spin on the dance floor, all the way up to the full-length, dramatic beauties fit for a grand ballet performance.
- Then there were the colours! Think bold fuchsia, sunshine yellow, even some neon green! (This was Mitcham we are talking about!). The girls were making a real statement, it was the most amazing display of tutu styles that I had ever seen!
- It definitely wasn’t just a tutu showcase either. Think disco boots, funky leggings and of course, sparkling accessories! You could tell this crowd had put real thought into their looks.
- The whole day was such a positive vibe, it was heartwarming. From the way everyone was chatting to the joy in their eyes – it was truly uplifting.
- It was such a fantastic demonstration of community spirit – a perfect mix of style and celebration.
Let me tell you, after a morning like that, it wasn’t difficult to find some inspiration for my next blog post. So Mitcham, keep rocking your Tut Tuesdays, you go, girls! Now, excuse me, I’m off to go hunt for the most fabulous tutu I can find… because after today, you can never have too many tutus!
