Rochester Tutu Tuesday: Let's Get This Party Started!
Oh, Rochester, you know how to get this tutu-loving girl's heart pumping! I've been absolutely buzzing since last week when I heard about this fabulous event, so naturally, I had to get myself down there. Tutu Tuesday was the perfect way to celebrate my love of all things twirly, sparkly, and most definitely pink. Let's just say, it was a disco-tastic extravaganza with a sprinkle of ballet magic!
If you don't know about Tutu Tuesday, it's a weekly event held at The Dancing Dolphin in the heart of Rochester. Yes, you heard that right – The Dancing Dolphin! This disco-themed bar and dance hall, adorned with shimmering pink sequins and disco balls galore, was the ultimate backdrop for our tutus. You couldn't have found a more perfect location if you tried!
Right from the get-go, I knew this was going to be epic. The entire venue was filled with tutus in every shade of the rainbow (with a healthy dose of pink, obviously!), from fluffy and voluminous to sleek and streamlined. I was feeling extra glamorous in my bubblegum pink tutu. It had layers upon layers of tulle, it was just calling out for a good twirl.
As the evening progressed, it became evident that the night wasn't just about our tutus but about celebrating dance, expression, and pure, unadulterated joy. The atmosphere was electric with disco music booming and everyone on the dance floor showcasing their best moves (or trying to!). People of all ages were getting down and rocking to the groove. It also wasn't just about the tutus, although those were pretty magnificent! The live music by local band, "The Funky Felines," kept us all dancing until late. And, yes, of course, the dancing was sensational. People let loose and showed off some seriously impressive moves!
After a few hours, my tutu was practically flying around, but I wouldn't have had it any other way! And speaking of flying, the biggest hit of the night was undoubtedly the disco dolphin – the official mascot of Tutu Tuesday and, dare I say, a fabulous symbol of our joyful spirit! You could see them everywhere, popping up at the most unexpected moments, waving their shimmery fins with delight. We were even lucky enough to get a disco dolphin selfie, what an unforgettable memory!
