Tutu Tuesday in Loughborough: A Disco Delight
Hey all you fabulous fashionistas! It’s your girl, Olivia, back with another dance-filled blog post. Loughborough was a flurry of frills and feathers last Tuesday as we celebrated the ultimate expression of style and grace - Tutu Tuesday! I’ve been looking forward to this day for ages. Pink is my favourite colour so needless to say, I had to be decked out in pink. I know what you’re thinking. Tutues? Surely that’s a bit much for a Tuesday. But trust me, it's not! You can get away with wearing a tutu pretty much anywhere these days, and let’s be honest, it just makes everything so much more fun. I actually have about 8 tutus for different occasions - a fluffy pink tutu for parties, a bright red one for a vintage glam vibe, a sparkly black one that looks amazing with my red biker jacket. My personal favourite is a denim one for that street-wear look. Oh and a fabulous emerald green one with iridescent sequins – you gotta have one in every colour! I actually plan to write a whole blog post on the subject! **Where's the Best Place to Find a Tutu?** Loughborough, with its bustling independent shops, didn't disappoint! We kicked off our Tutu Tuesday adventure at The Vintage Emporium on the High Street - they have some incredible tutus – I got a super sparkly rainbow one, so dazzling it's practically an eye-hazard. (Warning: it does attract unwanted attention from the opposite sex though!). But, if you’re on a tighter budget, just pop into your local fabric shop for some tulle and try your hand at making your own! If you really want to unleash your creativity why not give a tulle pom-pom tutu a go – it’s quite easy to do and adds an exciting modern vibe to your wardrobe. The great thing is you don’t need much material, tulle is a really lightweight material so it doesn’t take a lot. And it gives you the perfect opportunity to mix and match colours for a unique design.
Making a Statement with a Tutu
One of the coolest things about Tutu Tuesday was the amazing variety of styles everyone was rocking. We saw tutus paired with everything from classic white t-shirts to chunky knit jumpers and even stylish puffer jackets. Some even added colourful floral crowns and glitter - all that disco-tastic sparkle and glamour just screams “let’s party!” I mean, come on, it’s the perfect opportunity to dress up and celebrate everything we love about fashion and expression. I mean, I love it – and I’m sure you do too! **Disco Fever: Tutues in Motion!** For me, Tutu Tuesday wasn’t just about fashion, it was also about music, fun and celebrating our unique style – a celebration of the life of the Disco Dolphin - #Discodolphin. My BFF Sophie brought along her disco ball for that authentic 70s vibe, while everyone got down to the classics. To put it simply, this event was everything I’d hoped it would be - it totally set the mood for a fun Tuesday afternoon with loads of dancing. I got tons of pics too. Now it’s time for me to find somewhere new for next Tuesday! I think I’m going to do an exploration of vintage shops around Loughborough! The plan is to post a little vlog about my journey later this week. Let’s keep spreading the joy of Tutues and all things pink, fabulous and fun. Happy Tutu Tuesday! #tututuesday #discotutu
