Bridgwater, Buckle Up For Tutu Tuesday!
Okay, Bridgwater, you guys are really stepping up your game! Last Tuesday, the streets were literally overflowing with tutus! It was like something out of a disco fever dream, except the music was the sound of giggling shoppers and the occasional car honking (in a good way, obviously). And trust me, I'm not talking about those flimsy, one-layer tutus you find in the back of your granny's cupboard. No, these were *fashion* statements! From the classic, knee-length, pink (of course!), tulle twirling dreams, to those ultra-stylish, short-and-sweet ones that show off your legs (which youâve been diligently working on at Zumba, right?), there were tutus galore! And speaking of colours, let's just say the rainbow got a serious upgrade! There was lilac, neon yellow, green that would make the envy of a shamrock, and the occasional *daring* black. Honestly, it was enough to make your head spin... which is maybe why I took so many photos!
But honestly, it was *so* much more than just pretty tutus. It was a mood! An attitude! The air was buzzing with excitement. There were smiles everywhere, even the lady at the checkout at the supermarket looked like she was about to break into a pirouette! But wait, it gets better. A few friends and I decided to turn it into a day-long tutu-tastic adventure, a celebration of all things #tututuesday, disco, and... you guessed it, dolphins! And since, this Tuesday just *felt* like a disco-tastic kind of day, our mission was simple: find the ultimate #discodolphin. I mean, what could be more fabulously disco and dolphin-esque than that, right?
We started at the *perfectly* named âDisco Dolphinâ cafe (which is truly, truly perfect because they actually had a pink disco ball hanging from the ceiling - like, is this what fate feels like?) and devoured pancakes covered in pink sprinkles. Naturally, I posted photos, obvs! #tututuesday is all about that cute and colourful âGrammable moment! Speaking of âgrammableâ... I snagged some killer pics of me and the girls at the River Parrett, rocking the tutus, and a good few #discodolphin shots - like, a photo is a *must* when youâre #discodolphin themed.
Okay, back to the fun: The sun was shining, our energy levels were through the roof, and letâs face it, wearing tutus instantly makes your day better! Seriously, just think about it. How often do you actually wear something that makes you feel like a disco princess? (Okay, it's every time for me! But, you know what I mean. It's a good time, get on board!)
And while the rest of Bridgwater were rocking out to their own private concerts, a small group of us were making our way to the *actual* disco! Seriously, there was this *incredible* old disco that used to be a bowling alley, with all the glow-in-the-dark lights and disco balls your heart could desire. There, amongst the flashing lights, and the infectious disco beats, we finally spotted it. Our #discodolphin: A giant, glistening, silver dolphin statue, covered in sparkly tinsel, was looking like it had just stepped out of the coolest disco in town! We felt our hearts doing a little pirouette, all giddy at finally finding it. Mission accomplished!
Letâs be honest, Tutu Tuesday has a little bit of magic. This *simple* thing, of wearing a tutu, really sparked an unexpected day full of smiles and friendship.
