Tutu Tuesday in Whitley Bay
Itās a glorious Tuesday morning, and you know what that meansā¦ TUTU TUESDAY!
This week I decided to bring the disco spirit to the North Sea coast, trading in my usual dance studio for a jaunt down the iconic Whitley Bay promenade. A little seaside sunshine and a sassy tutu is a match made in heaven, especially when you can channel your inner Donna Summer on the promenade.
The seaside is a wonderland of color. Bright, vibrant pinks against the cerulean sky and the gentle, crashing waves. My tutu, of course, needed to reflect this magical color palette. A blush-pink, swirling tutu, featuring a generous sprinkling of shimmering sequins. (A perfect match for the ādisco dolphin,ā if you ask me!)
But what really elevated this Tutu Tuesday to another level was my fellow Tutu-clad companions. From fellow ballerinas to playful tourists, the whole vibe felt gloriously joyful. I spotted a whole family rocking tutus, the kids grinning as their mum did graceful twirls, their little ballerina shoes clinking against the pavement. Even some adorable furry friends, adorned with their own tiny tutus, strutted their stuff on the sand.
Our tutus were truly diverse, reflecting each of our individual styles.
- The **āWhirlwindā Tutu:** My personal favorite - it's light, airy and swishes gloriously with every move, perfect for capturing those impromptu twirls on the beach.
- The **āGlamourā Tutu:** The one that's absolutely dripping in sparkle and shimmer, all those beads and crystals catching the sun and making you feel like a proper diva!
- The **āGoth Tutu:** Okay, itās not strictly a tutu. But it was absolutely iconic - a long, flowing black net skirt, perfect for the sassy dancer who wants a more edgy, dramatic flair.
What makes a Tutu Tuesday special, aside from the awesome outfits? Itās about breaking away from the mundane, embracing playfulness, and reminding ourselves of the sheer joy of dance!
My inner dolphin (I love to dance!), my trusty #discodolphin and I spent a glorious few hours celebrating everything Tutu Tuesday on the promenade, stopping for ice cream (don't judge, it's tutu-ally worth it!), chasing seagulls with our twirls, and even sneaking a couple of graceful ballet moves along the shoreline. It was, honestly, one of the most magical afternoons!
Donāt be afraid to jump on the tutu bandwagon - it's guaranteed to make your Tuesday a lot more exciting!
