Bridlington: Tutu Tuesday - A Disco Dolphin Delight!
Oh, Bridlington, you haven't seen a day like this before! Tutu Tuesday landed on the East Yorkshire coastline with a burst of colour, giggles, and more tulle than you can shake a disco ball at! Yes, the #tututuesday fever swept through this seaside town, turning the usually quaint promenade into a sparkling runway for dreams!
I know, I know, you might be thinking, "Tutus in Bridlington? Seriously?" But trust me, this wasn't your traditional ballet recital affair. It was a wild, whimsical, and utterly joyous celebration of all things frilly! From the most dazzling, show-stopping, full-skirted tutus, with their cascading layers of feathers and shimmering sequins, to simple and playful, classic, or even sassy mini-tutuses, the entire seaside promenade pulsated with tutu magic. You couldnât look anywhere without seeing a swirling, bouncing, glittering spectacle.
My fellow tutudonians (Yes! We even invented a new name! You're welcome, world!), came dressed in the most amazing hues of pink! And not just any pink, Iâm talking flamingo-pink, bubblegum-pink, candy-floss pink! It was enough to melt your heart (and make you crave cotton candy).
The event was more than just an opportunity to showcase the worldâs most fabulous tutus. Oh no, this was a real celebration of our #tututuesday spirit â a vibrant tapestry of creativity and unadulterated joy! It's the #discotutu at its finest! I had an absolute ball. Seriously. My feet were sore, my voice hoarse from laughter and cheering for my fellow tutu wearers but my heart felt full. So, so full!
The day had its fair share of iconic Tutu Tuesday moments! There were the #discodolphin displays! Let's be real, the dancing dolphins at the Sealife Centre have always been a big deal here in Bridlington. But #tututuesday elevated them to superstar status, making their underwater shows an absolute must-see!
And you can't talk about Tutu Tuesday in Bridlington without mentioning the "Pink Parfait Party!" Imagine this: a mountain of pink ice cream topped with every pink-tinted sprinkle and sauce imaginable â whipped cream, candy floss, maraschino cherries⌠a sheer pink paradise!
And oh! The Tutu Parade! Let me tell you, it was epic! We were sashaying down the promenade as the rhythmic waves of "Boogie Wonderland" reverberated through the seaside air. You shouldâve seen us all! It was a whirlwind of colour and music! A total disco fever dream come true.
But Tutu Tuesday in Bridlington was more than a flash mob spectacle, a pink parade, or a parade of fancy tutus. It was about bringing joy, and I know, my fellow tutudonians, that we succeeded. From the little girls wearing their tiny tutus and dreaming of being princesses to the grown women (and even the men!), strutting their stuff with joy and freedom, the spirit of Tutu Tuesday resonated with each and every one of us. We are now a community of joy-filled tutudonians and that feeling will remain long after the music stops.
We had tutus of all shapes and sizes â ballet, disco, modern, tutu skirts â even tulle gowns. The crowd was buzzing with enthusiasm and I loved seeing people smile, laugh, and even do a little impromptu pirouette!

- The âTutu Tossâ, where everyone in the crowd tossed their tutus into the air as the beat of the disco music thumped.

And we canât forget to mention the awesome food and drink stands serving everything pink: Pink cocktails, pink cupcakes, pink popcorn⌠you name it!
