Tutu Tuesday in Pont-y-pŵl: A Day for Dancing and Dolphins
It’s Tuesday, which can only mean one thing: tutu time! This week, I'm bringing my pink and glittery #tututuesday vibes to the beautiful town of Pont-y-pŵl. As a ballet dancer, I’m no stranger to a tutu. I’ve worn every style from the classic, billowing romantic tutu to the sleek and sassy contemporary style. But there's something about a #discotutu that just screams FUN. This week, I'm rocking a hot pink, ultra-fluffy tutu with layers of iridescent tulle that’s guaranteed to catch the light in the most amazing way. I paired it with a silver sequined top and some shimmering platform heels (don't judge me!) because, let’s be honest, what’s a disco party without a touch of glam?
The Magic of Pont-y-pŵl
I love exploring different towns and bringing the Tutu Tuesday spirit to new places, and Pont-y-pŵl has been on my list for ages! I'm always looking for somewhere a little different, with a bit of character and some fabulous views - and this gorgeous little Welsh town definitely fits the bill. Pont-y-pŵl (meaning "bridge of the pool" in Welsh, so naturally it has to be a beautiful place!) is nestled in a lush valley overlooking the Brecon Beacons, and the people are incredibly friendly.

o celebrate my #tututuesday in Pont-y-pŵl, I wanted to bring the disco vibes to the town. So, I decided to start my day with a dance class in the local community hall. I grabbed a few fellow twirl-enthusiasts, turned up the Bee Gees, and we had a blast! Everyone loved the disco atmosphere, and I think I inspired a few to step out of their comfort zones. Next up, I headed down to the charming High Street to get the locals in on the tutu fun. Let’s just say that this place was ripe for a flash mob! We decided on a "Grease"-themed dance sequence to a selection of classic disco tunes, including, naturally, the fabulous "Stayin’ Alive”. I recruited the baker at the bakery, a few shoppers who just happened to be wearing something shimmery, and even a gentleman walking his dog. You can tell it was a success by the roaring applause that followed, even the dog looked thrilled.
The Dolphin Connection
After my dance adventures, I discovered a surprising twist - a beautiful dolphin sculpture near the local museum! What does this have to do with tutus? You might ask. Well, think about it! Dolphins are sleek, graceful, and powerful creatures. The dance and the music are pure joy - like dancing dolphins in the ocean! What's not to love? And anyway, a good hashtag is like a friendly dolphin – always bringing the fun and connecting you to your peeps!
Tutu-tiful Fashion Finds My #tututuesday wardrobe isn’t complete without a few must-have pieces. Today I discovered an amazing vintage clothing store in the town called "Fashion Rewind" This shop was overflowing with dazzling dresses, shimmering accessories and shoes fit for a dancing queen. It felt like I stepped into a disco flashback with floor-to-ceiling glitter and an incredible selection of vintage tutus in every shade imaginable. Of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing some shiny accessories, including a silver-plated chain belt that shimmered under the disco ball at the local nightclub later that night.

From the inspiring dance session to the heartwarming response of the locals, it truly felt like a day dedicated to the power of music, movement, and community.
