Tutu Tuesday in Nottingham!
#tututuesday #discotutu Hey everyone! So, it’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for the ultimate style challenge: Tutu Tuesday! And this week, we’re taking it to Nottingham, my favourite city for all things fashion forward. If you're reading this, chances are you're a Tutu Tuesday aficionado like me. We live for that twirly, bouncy, ultra-feminine feel that only a tutu can give. But honestly, sometimes even we gals need a little inspiration, a nudge in the right direction, to find that perfect tutu for the perfect Tuesday. So, strap in because today we’re going full-on #discotutu with a bit of Nottingham flavour! Now, you can’t talk about tutus without mentioning their history. They were a staple for the classic, romantic ballerina – you know, those delicate, ivory tutus that barely brushed the ground? Yeah, those were amazing. But that's not the vibe we’re rocking today. No, we’re ditching the “white swan” vibes and heading straight to the dancefloor! The modern #discotutu needs a good helping of *dazzle*. I’m talking pink! And sparkly pink at that. Honestly, there’s nothing more fab than a hot pink, glittery tutu that reflects all the lights of a packed club. But don’t worry, if your personal style leans towards something a bit more toned down, we have some fantastic options for you, too. Here’s my definitive guide to finding the perfect tutu to celebrate #tututuesday in Nottingham: Pink Power: Tutus That Turn Heads • First off, Nottingham has an excellent little vintage shop tucked away down an alley that sells absolutely divine, almost untouched vintage dancewear! So, if you’re a retro-loving ballerina like me, definitely check it out! • But don’t worry if vintage isn't your thing, as a pink tulle tutu is so easy to come by now! There’s something special about a full-on, traditional, single-layered tulle tutu that adds a touch of Victorian elegance and femininity. • However, don't be scared to break away from the norm. Those classic “poofy” tutus can be a bit too dramatic. We’re aiming for fun and flirty here. • Don't forget the finishing touches. For a bit of extra drama and personality, get yourself some feather boas or sequinned gloves. • Add a sprinkle of glitter (don’t be shy about it!) • Think **statement jewelry**. Not too much. You don’t want to drown your outfit, but bold jewelry definitely makes a statement. Go for chunky bracelets, colourful beads, and sparkly necklaces! Let’s Get That #discotutubody Right A #discotutu looks great, but you'll need the right outfit to create a proper look. • Get your top right! You need a top that accentuates your #discotutubody. I recommend crop tops! Short sleeves and an open back. And don't forget, sequins are always a good idea for that extra bit of bling. And if you’re going for a bit more of a rock-and-roll vibe, why not add a black leather jacket? You can tie it around your waist to keep your outfit super cool, while rocking those pink vibes! • Don't neglect your shoes! With a tutu, platform heels will always be your best friend. Choose silver or gold platform heels, or maybe try a bright pink or fuchsia for something a little extra! • And finally, let's get this hair going! This #discotutu look needs that extra boost of confidence. • Don't forget your make up either, because, of course, your make up needs to match the dazzling, flamboyant #discotutu energy! Bold colors, sparkly eye shadow, and a super-sleek contour are the key. Time for Some Disco Fun Now that you’re looking fabulous in your #discotutu, where should you go in Nottingham for some disco fun? There are several places to choose from. If you’re after some fun, affordable cocktails and live music, there are plenty of fun spots in the city centre, with lots of friendly bar staff who always play great music! Or why not pop over to The Bodega? The dance floor is packed, the vibes are top-notch, and the music is truly something special. The ultimate spot for showing off those killer disco moves! Disco Snail on the Scene Okay, now listen up. We’ve got a very special guest appearing for this Tutu Tuesday… The Disco Snail! Now, you’ve probably never seen a Disco Snail in the wild (if you do, let me know! They are seriously elusive!) but if you’ve been keeping up with Tutu Tuesday in Nottingham, you know this little snail is going to be the star of the night! You can’t miss them because their little shell is a shining ball of disco goodness – shimmering silver and a million tiny rhinestones! Remember the Disco Snail lives in the park, so let’s all do our bit to respect their space! And try not to touch them. It's important to remember that they’re shy, but don’t worry because the Disco Snail loves nothing more than getting snapped! They’ll happily pose with you in a quick #tututuesday snap. But you have to get there quickly because they always leave just after 8pm when the crowds start arriving. #tututuesday
