I arrived in Darlington with a twinkle in my eye and a pink feather boa swirling around my neck – it’s the perfect colour for Tutu Tuesday, don't you think? The town was abuzz, buzzing like a bee in a tutu, filled with women and girls all rocking the most amazing tulle creations!
Forget the classic pointe shoe style, darling – we saw everything from flowing, multi-layered tutus bursting with bright colours and bold sequins to more edgy, modern styles, all perfectly paired with statement earrings, and funky heels. You can never go wrong with a sprinkle of sparkle! Even the men in the town looked extra dapper sporting some pink – a real testament to the infectious spirit of Tutu Tuesday.
One lady, a veritable vision in a powder blue tulle tutu, told me, "My friend dared me to wear this," and it really set the tone – a joyous occasion to experiment with style, unleash creativity, and step out of your comfort zone. And what’s a better day for this than a Tuesday, the start of a fabulous new week? And just when you thought it couldn't get more fab, some creative folks decided to give a whole new meaning to “Disco Snail" with tutus fashioned from neon-hued silk, shimmering like a kaleidoscope.
