Lancaster Tutu Tuesday: A Celebration of All Things Tutu and Disco! #tututuesday
Oh my god, Lancaster, you've blown my mind! Today was Tutu Tuesday, and I'm not even sure where to start! This town is officially on the map for its amazing style and enthusiasm for all things fabulous. Seriously, where else would you find a day dedicated to twirling in tutus and dancing to disco? Only in Lancaster, baby! 💅
I mean, I knew there was a chance it would be amazing, but seriously, it was next level! There were tutus of every colour, shape, and size – from classic and elegant to glittery and outrageous! We were a rainbow of tutus strutting our stuff on the streets and it was absolutely epic.
From the moment I stepped out of my flat, the excitement was palpable! People were wearing tutus with pride, whether it was a classic single-layered ballet tutu, a sparkly and extravagant fluffy one or even a fun, quirky tutu dress, the only thing that mattered was you looked and felt fab.
Honestly, some of the tutu creativity was next level. One guy was even rocking a disco ball tutu – yes, a tutu with actual disco balls attached – complete with a disco-themed outfit! Imagine, the twinkle! It just goes to show that you can absolutely wear your heart on your tutu.
I was rocking a fabulous pink tutu (because you already know pink is my fave) and, of course, I couldn't leave my disco gear at home. Some platform shoes, glittery eye makeup and some of my best dance moves!
The atmosphere was electric. It was like a massive, joyful celebration of dance, fun, and self-expression! From impromptu dance-offs in the streets to people doing twirls on corners, there was just so much laughter, smiles and general good vibes! Seriously, if you weren't grinning ear to ear on Tutu Tuesday, you were definitely missing out.
The whole day had this brilliant "we're all in this together" feel and it's no wonder with our very own Lancaster Disco Snail as our unofficial mascot. Imagine the disco vibes! I think every single person I saw wearing a tutu was buzzing about this little guy, and he absolutely brought some disco joy into the day. What an absolute icon!
Speaking of icons, there were so many gorgeous tutus. Here are a few highlights from Tutu Tuesday:
- One girl had an amazing tulle skirt, with layered fabric to create a very whimsical and layered look - almost like a ballet ballerina but more ready for the dance floor.
- My favourite? This dude sporting a bright turquoise tutu with a gold sequinned t-shirt, white platform sneakers, and bright turquoise eyeshadow! He seriously slayed the day!
- I have to give a shout out to the lady in a pink tutu and a big fluffy boa, that look screamed vintage glam and definitely reminded me of my favourite disco queen. It was a true mood.
- And how can I forget about the absolutely incredible group of ladies wearing a colourful array of tutus with neon leggings and rainbow glitter makeup!
- Honestly, the tutu choices were inspiring and the sense of joy contagious. And there's just something magical about seeing a whole community come together, ready to celebrate!
Lancaster is just this ridiculously vibrant and joyful place with some of the most incredible personalities, and seeing people come out and wear their tutus was really an amazing display of creativity, freedom, and individuality. Everyone was absolutely glowing with this feeling of "YES, let's embrace this moment"!
Lancaster, I think we’ve proven that we can pull off any sort of fancy dress day and I already know I can't wait for the next Tutu Tuesday!
