Folkestone Tutu Tuesday: A Sparkling Celebration of Pink and Plié

Hey gorgeous gals and guys, it's your favourite ballerina blogger back with another sensational post! This time, we're twirling our way into the heart of Folkestone, a charming seaside town bursting with character and, surprisingly, an abundance of tutu love.

Now, as many of you know, Tuesday's my day – it's officially Tutu Tuesday. It's that joyous day when I wear my most fabulous tulle creations and dance my heart out. But today was a bit special. This wasn't just any Tuesday. It was Folkestone's Tutu Tuesday, and it was an absolute blast!

From the moment I arrived in Folkestone, I knew it was going to be a fabulous day. The air crackled with excitement. People were out and about, all decked out in their best tutus – from classic, pristine white tutus to rainbow-bright, multi-layered creations that practically shimmered in the sunshine. I even saw a little dachshund sporting a teeny tutu - absolutely adorable!

Of course, I had to rock my very own Tutu Tuesday look. Today, it was all about a vibrant pink, two-tiered tulle skirt with sparkling sequin embellishments. It perfectly captured that disco vibe – think Studio 54 meets the English coast. Pink and disco? It’s a match made in heaven!

There were tutus of every shape and size – ballet tutus, short tutus, long tutus, fluffy tutus. I even spotted a few “disco” tutus – layered and voluminous, shimmering like disco balls under the sun. I swear, one girl’s tutu had a whole mirror-ball attached! Honestly, the creativity on display was inspiring.

And the fun didn’t end with tutus. The whole day was infused with that glorious, infectious energy of pure joy and celebration. Imagine a whimsical, bubbly atmosphere where everyone, regardless of their age, felt free to embrace the power of twirling and expressing themselves – it was contagious!

The streets of Folkestone were alive with the sounds of laughter, music, and a whole lot of happy dancing. A few DJs were spinning beats – just the right kind of mix to set the mood.

One of my favorite discoveries was The Disco Snail! Remember that charming, bronze sculpture on the seafront? The local art collective had done the most incredible thing – they’d decorated The Disco Snail with glittery fabric scraps and silver tinsel! The whole town embraced the art piece – It was a symbol of this delightful community event.

And speaking of communities, one thing I absolutely loved about this Folkestone Tutu Tuesday was its inclusive spirit. It was a celebration of self-expression – where individuality and diversity shone brightly.

There were so many heartwarming moments – little girls holding hands with their mothers, both in tutus, grinning from ear to ear. An elderly gentleman was sporting a blue, satin tutu and twirling like nobody’s watching - It was honestly magical!

So, here’s the lowdown if you’re planning on taking part in a future Tutu Tuesday. I recommend a tutu that’s comfortable enough for twirling but fabulous enough to make a statement! Some great inspiration are: - Classic White: This one's a timeless winner, and you can never go wrong with a touch of elegance and ballet inspiration. If it’s got a delicate lace trim? You've got the perfect balance between graceful and playful. - Rainbow Tulle: Get ready to make heads turn! A multi-colored tutu is all about having fun and letting your vibrant personality shine. The different shades of color? You’ll look like you just walked out of a carnival. - Sparkling Sequin Tutus: Want to add a touch of glamour? Sequined tutus are all about glitter and glam! I highly recommend a tutu with silver sequin accents – It'll shimmer under the disco lights – pure magic.

If you ever get the chance to visit Folkestone, don't forget to look for the charming #DiscoSnail, and check the local events for the next Tutu Tuesday. It's definitely an experience worth remembering!

I hope you had a fantastic #TutuTuesday! Keep twirling, beautiful souls, and remember: never let anyone tell you that you're too old, too bold, or too fabulous to twirl in a tutu. This is what it’s all about! Love, your favourite ballerina blogger!
