Wellington Tutu Tuesday: A Night of Twirling & Sparkle

Hello, my gorgeous glitterati! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another installment of fashion adventures. This time, it's all about #tututuesday, and let me tell you, Wellington was positively buzzing!

Picture this: a city pulsating with the energy of twirling, a sea of pink and glitter. There was a palpable excitement in the air, a sense of celebration – we'd found our reason to dance, and dance we did!

I kicked off the evening in a classic pink tutu. I’m talking a knee-length poodle skirt-inspired beauty, just begging to be twirled! A perfect combo of sassy and elegant. I paired it with my favourite sparkly silver top – after all, the more sparkle, the better. You just can't beat a little disco-inspired glamour!

As the sun set, and the music kicked in, the city transformed into a veritable ballet ball. The energy was infectious! You had everything from bouffant ballroom tutus – think Marie Antoinette with a touch of 1980s extravagance – to fiercely edgy street style with a touch of tutu. One particularly fabulous chap even sported a men’s tutu – it was black with shimmering sequins, totally rocking the masculine-feminine vibe.

There was no dress code, just an urge to dance and celebrate. The #discosnail – our little mascot for the night, and yes, it's a disco ball snail – seemed to epitomize the night. It was all about whimsy and a touch of the bizarre – in the best way possible.

I even had the pleasure of bumping into my fave fashion blogger, Olivia. She was sporting a gorgeous tulle tutu in an amazing electric blue hue – absolutely vibrant against the evening lights. The sheer beauty of it made me do a double-take.

As the night went on, the #tututuesday vibe became a beautiful mashup of classic ballet, street-inspired flair and pure disco madness. One fantastic group was rocking the “fluffy" tutu look with big bouncy pink and purple tutus, just begging to be tossed around! They looked like ballet ballerinas on a sugar rush!

We even saw some innovative takes on the tutu concept – one gal rocked a black tulle skirt over a pair of sleek leggings and a killer blazer. Totally on point with that modern edgy style.

What I love about #tututuesday is how it reminds us that we can be whoever we want to be. It’s all about finding your inner sparkle and just dancing it out! It’s not just about the fashion. It's a reclaiming of your personal style, celebrating individuality and letting your true self shine through!

Wellington, you know how to have a party, and this #tututuesday proved just that. See you next week! I hear they’re bringing back the disco-themed tutus. I may even be rocking a double tutu… Stay tuned!

Love,
Amelia
