Walthamstow Tutu Tuesday - A Disco-tastic Delight!
Itās official: Walthamstow is officially the most fabulous place on earth (and, ok, I might be biased but letās be real, you canāt disagree!). Why? Well, my darling readers, it's all thanks to #Tututuesday, an exciting weekly celebration of all things tutu, that took place this week at the ever-so-charming Walthamstow Market.
This weekās theme was "disco" - the glitziest, sparkliest, most outrageous dance craze the world has ever seen! And whatās more fabulous than a #discotutu? (Spoiler alert: absolutely nothing.) And let me tell you, the punters came ready to strut their stuff, a vibrant kaleidoscope of shimmering fabrics that danced in the gentle breeze.
Every single colour of the rainbow, darling! From a fiery sunset orange tutu reminiscent of a flamenco dancer, to pastel-hued tulle with the dreamiest ballet skirt. Some sported fluffy feathered tutut that wouldnāt be out of place on a Vegas show girl, while others embraced a more minimalist style, opting for a sleek and streamlined black tutu that exuded cool, Parisian elegance. But whether a simple skirt or an elaborate costume, itās fair to say that every #tututuesday outfit oozes creativity and a touch of wacky flair that only Walthamstow could manage.
Now, I'm a girl who believes every look needs a signature accent. You know what I'm talking about! It's that special something that just adds a little extra "oomph". My choice? A splash of shimmering, glitzy pink, my favourite hue. This week I was feeling especially brave and went for a full-on fuchsia look - pink satin tutu with layers of soft, shimmery tulle that I canāt resist playing with when Iām in public. And just when I thought it couldnāt get any better, the amazing folks at the market unveiled the āDisco Snailā. This larger-than-life snail with a shiny pink disco ball body, it was absolutely breathtaking! Letās face it, darling, everything in Walthamstow just screams "flair" and that's exactly what I'm about!
We've had tutus inspired by famous paintings like "The Starry Night" - which were absolutely divine - as well as tutus that mirrored fashion icons like the queen of disco herself, Donna Summer. My personal favourite, however, has to be the tutus inspired by the most-wanted toy of the season: The Disco Snail. This adorable snail with a pink sequinned shell that looks like a giant disco ball is the talk of the town. Now how is it that the people of Walthamstow managed to turn this little toy into such a major fashion statement? Oh, the magic of Tutu Tuesday!
Letās face it, darling. Walthamstow is a real gem. This historic town with its buzzing market is home to a lovely collection of unique shops and delicious food stalls. But itās more than just that; it's a town full of character, colour and an irresistible dose of weirdness that's always up for a good time! What more could a fashionista want?
Oh, but thatās not all, my lovelies. Walthamstow has another surprise in store for us next week on #Tututuesday. The theme? "Jungle Fever!" It means a celebration of everything wild and wonderful! So, break out your leopard print, throw on your best feather earrings and get ready for an epic night. You just can't resist #Tututuesday darling. Just promise me you'll grab your phone and take lots of pictures so I can post them to our Insta account @TutuWalthamstow.
For all the Tutu fashion queens and kings out there this is your chance to show off your uniquely beautiful selves! See you next week in Walthamstow! š
