This week, we’re strutting our stuff in the heart of Hemel Hempstead, a town that might not immediately spring to mind for a tutu-themed extravaganza, but trust me, this town’s got some serious hidden sparkle! This time, my quest for tulle led me to a rather unique independent store called The Rainbow Wardrobe. Oh my god, you guys! Think vintage meets whimsical, a wonderland of color and textures that makes your heart flutter just a little bit. I mean, who doesn't love a good rummage through a shop bursting with bright, fabulous things, and with a #tututuesday in mind? It felt like destiny.
And speaking of destiny, I found myself drawn to a pastel pink tulle skirt. It's not a classic tutu in the traditional sense, but it's just the perfect combination of girly charm and sass. This tulle is so airy and soft, it practically floats around me like a disco cloud! I paired it with a vibrant neon green T-shirt with glitter on it. This might sound a little chaotic, but trust me, the combo was actually pretty perfect. The color clash totally sparkled and reminded me of that song, “A little bit of something a little bit of me”. I chose my pink tutu skirt and then matched it with some accessories that evoked the fabulous era. My pink heart-shaped handbag with gold detailing and some big silver hoop earrings with sparkles totally matched the theme. To keep my look grounded and to avoid being too girly and looking like I’d stepped out of a sugar plum fairy's closet, I slipped on my bright neon green Converse, perfect for a night on the town, wouldn’t you agree?
Disco Snails in Hemel Hempstead This town had some other surprises up its sleeve, I also found a shop full of snails! Not any old snails, disco snails! That’s right – glitter covered, glow-in-the-dark, totally blinged-up snails that make a #discosnail more than just an internet search hashtag. A real disco snail is a sight to behold. These little guys are more about the “bling” than “slug” in “slugfest”.
The Tutu Tuesday Take Away Hemel Hempstead surprised me! From the unexpected “Disco Snail” to the perfect Tutu Tuesday outfits, the town delivered in spades. Don’t let Hemel Hempstead slip by you – if you ever happen to be nearby, ditch the tutu, because there's some real character to this town that's definitely worth exploring. Just remember - you never know where a Tutu Tuesday will lead. You never know who you might meet, what you might find. And sometimes, the best discoveries are totally unplanned! The Final Tutu Thoughts I have to mention the local baker, her cakes are just to die for! I ended up with a lovely piece of sparkly lavender cake in my new pink tutu. It was a fantastic finish to my day out and the sugar rush just gave my mood that extra sparkle I needed for the evening. So, there you have it!
