East Ham: Tutu Tuesday, A Disco Dream! #tututuesday
Oh, my darlings! The East Ham streets were alive with sparkles and twirls this past Tuesday, all thanks to the fabulous Tutu Tuesday phenomenon! As a ballerina with a passion for fashion, I've been dreaming of Tutu Tuesday for ages, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This town's got rhythm, and the disco vibes were positively infectious!
The thing about Tutu Tuesday, it's not just about rocking a tutu. It's a full-on, "let's have some fun!" vibe, and East Ham, bless their cotton socks, truly embraced it! From the traditional ballet styles with fluffy, tulle layers to those cheeky, short and sassy numbers ( think, '80s inspired leg warmers, darling!), it was a rainbow of colour and attitude.
Speaking of colour, East Ham's love of pink, like mine, shone brightly! There were more shades of pink tutus than you could shake a tights-clad leg at. But there were some fantastic bold looks, too. We're talking silver, emerald, and dazzling yellow!
Here's my top three looks from the day:
- "The Disco Snail": A sassy little number with a shell of sparkling silver sequins and a trail of pink tulle. Total " disco queen goes to a party" vibes. #discosnail
- "The Floral Fantasia": Picture a traditional pink tutu ( just like you see in Swan Lake, love!), but covered in the most intricate floral applique embroidery. Seriously, it felt like wearing a blooming garden!
- "The Neon Dream": Forget pink! This beauty was neon green with a splash of orange, yellow, and purple. Think pop art on a dancer.
One of the most heartwarming moments? Seeing a group of grannies with bright pink tutus. Honestly, they looked so chic and fabulous. And let me tell you, their attitude gave all of us a good dose of confidence. It's not every day you see women owning a tutu in their seventies, but these ladies did it with grace and sass.
This is not the last of Tutu Tuesdays in East Ham, believe me! And let me tell you, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be there spinning and swirling right beside everyone! So grab your tutus and your biggest smiles - the disco is waiting for us!
