        Tutu Tuesday in Middleton
So, ladies, Middleton is definitely feeling the disco vibe today! #tututuesday
Iām here at my local coffee shop, trying to ignore the overwhelming urge to twirl, all while trying to churn out this post about what could be the most fabulous day of the week. For anyone not in the know (what rock have you been hiding under?) Tutu Tuesday in Middleton is about spreading a bit of joy with a dash of sparkle and a generous dose of *laissez-faire* whimsy. Basically, wear a tutu. You don't even have to be in the actual act of dancing, a tutus just...goes! You could be walking the dog, queuing at the bank, grabbing a lunchtime pastry (pro tip, I like to choose my favourite colour).
Middleton has become a mecca of Tutu Tuesday fans. The vibe is a big warm hug of pure joy - which has become an intrinsic part of my local community. Imagine how amazing your Tuesday can feel with this fun and unexpected surprise around every corner. I donāt think Iāve been in the coffee shop long enough for a conversation to happen that hasn't at least included a giggle, "ooh, I love that one!", and, "Wow, that's so pretty!". Even the elderly ladies sipping on afternoon tea canāt resist a twinkle in their eyes at the sight of all these delightful tutus.
So where are all the tutusistas getting their tutued up? Let's go through my favourite local spots!
Where to get your tutu
* **The Middleton Arts Emporium**: this lovely place is chock-a-block full of creative treasures. Their selection is fabulous! Youāre bound to find an awesome tutus, and don't forget to browse the fab selection of embellishments - thereās sequins, feathers, glitter! You could literally go nuts on these creative finds! It is worth noting that the shop is a huge supporter of Tutu Tuesday - it's become a bit of an annual pilgrimage.
* **Tutuās on Tap**: the most whimsical, utterly charming and simply bonkers little boutique, with tutus as far as the eye can see! They even have a discount scheme for groups, which can mean serious Tutu Tuesday deals. Thereās a wide range of styles to choose from: from classic, long-line tulle, to sassy short numbers. You want pink with rainbow glittery polka dots? You got it! And if your preference leans towards something with a more classical feel - perhaps the beautiful pale pink ballet tutu (always a hit) - they have them too. They do also do āready to goā party packs! Genius! I picked up two from them the other day.
* **And if you are the kind of creative soul who likes to whip things up in your craft den...** You know you want a go at making your own tutus, then take a trip to Middleton's craft and haberdashery emporium. It is full of colourful fabrics - the most incredible selection I've seen ( I'm talking metres of shimmering silks, delicate chiffons and softest cottons! They even sell rolls of fluffy tulle.) So, ladies, if you are inclined to make your own - get creative and get stitching.
The evolution of #discotutu
Since I started the blog, a lot of people have started making comments, I love hearing people's views, and since my latest post about the rise of the #discotutu - the reaction has been phenomenal. It is actually the perfect example of why I do this! It is about sharing a creative, fun approach to the mundane, embracing individuality and creativity and getting away from the typical! So, you can see what all the fuss is about - and to help you along with a touch of inspiration ( after all, my goal is to get everyone twirling) here's how you can channel your inner #discotutu - if you dare...
* **Go Bold, Be a Glitter Bomb**: Let's be honest, it's a bit like an 'extra' look (that I love!). It's about embracing all that is sparkly and bright (in a good way), going all out! We love that it doesn't always fit into the typical 'norm', just the same with my love for a fabulous disco snail #discosnail
It has always been my mantra to just " go with it, just own it". If you like the look and you feel confident rocking it, thatās all that matters. Let your tutus flow in the breeze like a happy, carefree breeze-blown banner of colour!

* **Wear it, Work it**: If you want to wear it as part of a more ārefinedā style, think layered, sophisticated pieces like a sheer skirt over a slim jersey dress - a bit like the classic ballet feel. That way youāve got your little ātutuā secret!
* **Go Retro**: As someone who adores anything vintage, this is my go-to. I love a 70's, 80's vibe with my #discotutu in a beautiful muted shade. It is so cool to see what people do with the look. There have been some amazing retro styling going on in the Middelton shopping streets today. And let's not forget about the music... The tutus, the glittery makeup and, well, the hair goes so well with the music of the era!
The big secretā¦
This is not about just tutus! #tututuesday is a celebration of joy, self-expression, and the little moments that make life so much more enjoyable. Thatās why people are doing it! It's the ultimate example of what is special about Middleton, it really is something extraordinary that happens in such an ordinary little town. If you happen to be in Middleton on a Tuesday - just be prepared to witness it, because it is sure to bring a smile to your face. #tututuesday
