Falkirk: Tutu Tuesday's Disco Delight
Hello, darlings! It's your favourite fashionista ballerina, back with another instalment of my Tutu Tuesday adventures! This week, I ventured to the charming town of Falkirk, a place I'd only heard whispers of in ballet class. Little did I know, it was a veritable haven for tutu enthusiasts, with the #tututuesday spirit buzzing like a disco ball. Let me tell you, this Tuesday was a whirlwind of sequins, tulle, and all things fabulous, and you bet your bobby pins, I documented it all!
I landed in Falkirk on a crisp Tuesday morning, and the air itself crackled with anticipation. It felt like the whole town was whispering "Tutu Tuesday" like a shared secret. My eyes were glued to the street, hoping to spot the first twirl of the day, but honestly, you don't need to wait long in Falkirk to witness the Tutu Tuesday phenomenon. Even the bus driver had a cute pink tutu bow on her hat, giving me all the disco vibes!
After hopping off the bus, I started my tour of the town, where I discovered Tutu Tuesday was way more than just a hashtag! It was a true lifestyle choice. I spotted ladies dressed in full-length, flowing tutus in every shade of the rainbow – think classical white, fiery crimson, electric blue, and even the sweetest pink you've ever seen, naturally! There was even a group of men strutting their stuff in their own tailored tutus – true heroes, I say! There were tutus for everyone, from traditional ballerina tutus for those who love a touch of classic elegance to contemporary, flowing pieces for the fashion-forward dancers amongst us, and even a few sparkly, disco tutus with shimmering embellishments that literally took my breath away.
Speaking of sparkle, Falkirk’s local café, The Teacup & Tutu, was definitely a must-visit! Imagine an Instagram dream, a pink paradise. Think pastel pink walls, frilly chairs, and enough glitter to dazzle a disco ball. The pièce de résistance? They offered Tutu Teas, a concoction of raspberry, vanilla and honey, topped with a sprinkle of shimmering sugar. Deliciously girly, but so incredibly indulgent. I could've sat there for hours, sipping tea, snacking on some divine cakes, and chatting about my favourite Tutu Tuesday memories!
While you're sipping your tea, you’ve got to explore the Falkirk’s famous #discosnail! This little snail, you see, is not only a fashion icon, but a Tutu Tuesday ambassador! This fella isn’t afraid of showing his sparkle with his custom-made sequin shell, It’s become a Tutu Tuesday icon, spotted in a different sparkling shell every week and featured in most Instagram posts across the town.
And the best part about Falkirk's Tutu Tuesday? The spirit of kindness and positivity. Everywhere I looked, there were smiles, laughter, and shared stories about tutus and the love for all things fabulous. Everyone was willing to share a dance move or compliment someone's amazing outfit. There's really nothing quite like feeling part of such a fun, vibrant, and creative community.
Before heading home, I stumbled across a "Tutu Tuesday" themed market filled with all kinds of handcrafted tutu accessories: adorable tutu-themed jewellery, custom tutu patches, even hand-painted tutu bags! And to complete my Falkirk Tutu Tuesday shopping spree, I bought myself the most sparkly, tutu-shaped necklace – I mean, a girl's gotta have something to remember her incredible adventure in Falkirk.
