Oh my gosh, you guys, it's Tutu Tuesday in Paignton and I am *living* for it! I mean, what's better than donning your best pink tulle and feeling like a literal disco queen? Not a whole lot, let me tell you. I'm talking all things tutu today, and I'm so excited to share my fabulous finds!
I know what you're thinking: "A whole Tuesday dedicated to tutus? Surely it's a bit... much?". But let me tell you, the Tutu Tuesday movement is *everything*! Started by a bunch of lovely ladies in Bristol (you know who you are, tutu-loving queens!), it's become a global sensation. Basically, every Tuesday, we rock our best tutus and show the world that ballet wear is not just for the stage!
This week's inspiration was definitely the #discosnail - the glitziest snail on this side of the Atlantic (who just so happens to wear a pink tutu)! This little beauty even popped in for a chat over a cheeky milkshake. Let's just say, it wasn't your average Tuesday chat. We discussed everything from the latest in tutus trends to the challenges of finding the perfect sparkly snail shell.
Here are my #Tutuesday tips for the day:
- Tutu styles: There are a *ton* of amazing tutu options, so get creative! I went for a classic pink tulle, which just screamed disco to me. But there's also poofy ones, ruffled ones, ones with layers and layers of sequins... the possibilities are endless!
- Accessories are key! The right accessories will totally elevate your #Tutuesday look! I threw on some glitzy silver platforms, a shimmering clutch bag and a feather boa because, honestly, who can say no to feathers? And definitely don't forget a statement necklace, just like your favourite ballerina!.
- Hair: You gotta have your hair game on point! For the day, I've got my hair pulled up in a high, slick bun (classic ballet, obviously). This looks absolutely smashing with my choice of sparkly pink head scarf that was almost blindingly sparkly. You can't beat a messy bun for a relaxed vibe, too. Add some flowers or a ribbon to up the elegance factor.
- Makeup! Time to amp up the makeup, honey. Big lashes, shimmering eyeshadow, a touch of pink lipstick, you know the drill. I've added an extra bit of colour today just to really bring out my natural vibrancy.
- Post that Insta selfie. You absolutely MUST share your tutu pride with the world, my darling! Snap some photos and show off your fabulousness to the entire Paignton area using #Tutuesday. You’ll have the coolest people in the UK adding you on Insta by the end of the week!
