Tutu Tuesday in Sutton in Ashfield: A Whirlwind of Sequins and Sparkle!

Oh my god, you guys, Sutton in Ashfield has officially become my new favourite place! It's not every day you stumble upon a community so dedicated to the glorious tutu, the undisputed queen of all dancewear. I'm talking sequins, feathers, tulle, oh my! This town truly understands the art of expressing yourself through fashion, and trust me, they don't shy away from a bit of pink. (Did I mention I love pink? Pink is like, totally my colour.)

So, picture this: it's a bright, sunny Tuesday morning, the air abuzz with the energy of Tutu Tuesday, and I'm there, standing in the heart of the action. You'd think I'd be backstage at the Royal Opera House, not in a small town like Sutton in Ashfield, but the sheer scale of the spectacle makes me want to whip out my phone and document it all. It's like a symphony of frills, a kaleidoscope of colours. People are dancing on the streets, their tutus swishing, their smiles wider than a disco ball. Forget high fashion, this is real, raw, authentic Tutu Tuesday, and it's totally #tututuesday!

Right, where do I even start? There are so many amazing tutus to talk about. I mean, you name a style and Sutton in Ashfield has it: from the classic, "grand jete" tutus in powder pink to the oh-so-chic "Arabesque" tutus, shimmering in metallic silver; to the sassy, "piqué" tutus in neon green that just beg to be twirled. The creativity here is on another level. They've even got tutus for pets, I swear! I saw a bulldog strutting his stuff in a pink tutu with a fluffy tutu-covered bowtie - honestly, the cuteness was too much!

And let's not forget about the legendary Disco Snail, a.k.a. "Shelly". Shelly's a true icon of Tutu Tuesday - imagine a massive disco ball with iridescent sequins and legs that literally go on forever, and you've got yourself a Disco Snail! I swear, Shelly was giving everyone some serious competition on the dance floor! He really understands the #discosnail spirit! You can bet that Shelly's making waves in the #tututuesday community.

If I had to choose my top five favourites, here they are:

  • This absolutely stunning "ballerina" tutu with delicate, white feathers framing a sky-blue tulle base.
  • An "en pointe" tutu featuring a holographic rainbow effect, reflecting the sunshine and adding extra glitz and glamour.
  • A tutu with a sparkly disco ball motif which honestly screamed "1980s disco!"
  • A classic black tutu with pink accents that just had the "girl next door" vibe but totally made me want to rock some pink!
  • A totally custom-made, fluffy pink tutu that looked straight out of a "Pinkalicious" fairytale. The fluff was literally unreal!

The people of Sutton in Ashfield really know how to turn it up, they don't let a bit of weather rain on their parade (figuratively and literally - because it did actually rain a bit that day) but, they took it all in their stride and kept dancing! I think my favourite part was how everyone was smiling. You could really tell they were loving it and just enjoying each other's company.

Tutu Tuesday, you are seriously my new go-to for a day of serious fun and fashion. I am 100% in love with Sutton in Ashfield. You've convinced me that sometimes the simplest things can bring the most joy! #tututuesday!
