Wood Green: Tutu Tuesday - A Dance Through the Decades with a Touch of Disco Glitter! #tututuesday #discotutu
Hello my darling dance enthusiasts! Itās your girl, Chloe, and you know what day it is? Itās Tutu Tuesday in the glorious, glorious town of Wood Green! I just canāt get over this place! It's where all the best outfits happen, honey! Especially on Tuesdays, where everyone gets their sparkly, frilly, twirling game on.
I love my job; it lets me indulge in everything fluffy and frilly! The thrill of choosing a tutu for the week is as important as the choice of dance step to the fabulous song of the week.
This week was a hard choice. My choice came down to: a dramatic multi-layered black tulle, the kind of tutu you see prima ballerinas wear when they're going all out in the third act of Swan Lake.
Or this gorgeous bubblegum pink creation that just screams āIām ready to take on the world!ā (It is a little on the small side - the tiny sparkles have become rather dislodged after being tossed into a suitcase, a little lesson in how *not* to pack your dance wear), and of course I ended up picking the pink! Oh my god. It's absolutely amazing!.
So how to make the pink tutu truly sing in a discotastic manner? Well, a great tutu is a great foundation, so this pink wonder was matched with an oversized sequined shirt, my disco hair, glitter, more glitter, a bright-pink feather boa, my favorite glitter high-top Converse and, for my little "something special", a gold glitter-covered, dancing snail pin (you canāt have a disco without a little glitter, darlings!). It might be a little āover the topā to most people, but letās be real, it is completely "on the top" when it comes to disco fun. (The "Disco Snail" pin is so glam, it is becoming the new go-to statement piece!
Here is how you can make the day magical with the best tutu, if you donāt already have a favourite tutu, here are some ideas!
- **For that real āold schoolā vibe, we are talking classic white and the āold-school ballerinaā tutu; tight, flat and the style made iconic by *Margot Fonteyn*. This can also look quite spectacular and can be modernized with black sparkly fishnet tights or leg warmers for an extra, āsomething specialā element.
- **Go *boudoir* or *femme fatale*, try a tulle black maxi-skirt as your ātutu" **with fishnet tights and an extremely long train, for an all-out dramatic affair thatās more āmovie star glamour than ballet class. A feather boa can make all the difference!
- **The romantic tutu;** try pastel, light coloured tutus. They could have an element of flower power - think long flowery trains and flowers around your hair!
- **The tutu for *modern life*;** A short tutu made in colourful fabrics like polka dots! Add leather jackets and some bright neon coloured tops for some āurban" vibes, honey!
- **Tutus come in many shades and colours** - red, turquoise, baby blue and hot pink. Donāt forget about these! They are perfect if you want something *extra*. **For example, if youāre in the mood to bring some serious personality and glamour, opt for hot pink!

I am starting my day with some glitter on my face and hair, it will have a strong ā disco-divaā theme! But I would be interested to see your fabulous #tututuesday ideas - and the hashtag #discotutu!
